Hope you enjoyed the race. I had a few problems with one section but got them sorted all bar one, I have no name for position 84, the time was 03:12:10.
Just to close on a nice note, we had 8 runners from Hague Road Runners, they are from Den Hague in the Netherlands, all marathon runners, their leader told me they were training on a 20m high hill, they all finished.
Kieran
I saw a few of the Dutch guys charging up the first hill, for 50 metres and then stopping to take photos of their mates. I just hope they still had the same energy on the last hill! (I didn't)
My first AL and I'm hooked. That was amazing 'fun'. (3.01.53 got me in top 50 as well... yippppeee!)
Thanks for all the tips and info beforehand and I've never had so much respect for marshalls as I did for the guys with the tent at check point 10 at the top of the hill. We were lucky, we could run past and downward to the finish. They were stuck there for hours!
Intresting to read at the bottom of the results, that the cut off time may be reduced at checkpoint 4 by 15 minutes and the entry on the day increased to £15.00.
The RO thinks that this will mean last runners finishing around the 4hr 30mins mark and encourage pre entry.
Sounds like a good plan to help out the marshalls, but how pee'd off would you be if you missed the cut off having paid £15 quid .....
Agreed, it saves pissing about on the day. Put it up to £20 that'll prevent it.
Also agree on reducing the cut-off time for the sake of the volunteers. Not easy to keep smiling all day in November, on top of Pendle. Massive respect to them.
I've looked at the times from previous years, and this is definitely the slowest, and over the years we seem to be getting slower despite advances in technology. Of course erosion and weather play there part.
No. No.
Video taken at the Summit on the way to CP 1 is now on YouTube.

Sorry SS. Your descent was probably chopped during the editing process.
It's not easy reducing 1hr+ of footage down to less than 7 mins and unless you descended on your arse or did cartwheels you would have been chopped.
Quite a few runners got trapped in the kissing gate so might make a compilation of 'When gates fight back'!
PS - Anyone know the music used in Part 1 and Part 2 (assuming YouTube doesn't put an advertising link on). 10 Forum points for the correct answer.
Buzzcocks - Everybody's Happy Nowadays
Chemical Brothers (ft Bernard Sumner) - Out of Control
What do points mean?:D
And I was on my arse on the grass bits and running down the bracken. By design. Took loads of people down. Never mind. Destined never to be famous.:(;)
Gutted- lost my Green Medium Oz smock at the race. Has anyone accidentally picked it up. I asked the race organiser and he hasn't got it, so wondered if anyone has it, pretty please?
Message from Kieran Carr (race organiser)
Contrary to what my notes said on the results of the 2009 Tour, the cut-off at CP4 will remain at 12:30pm (Race start still 10:30am), allowing 2 hours from the start. This year
I am prepared to have an early start for slower runners at 10:00am, cut-off at CP4 will still be 2 hours. I am hoping it packs the slower runners closer together during the latter part of the race and gives the marshals an earlier finish, particularly those on the last check points.
Entry on the day will be £15.00.

Very good call by a race organiser and thank you, not sure if my wife will be that happy as this was her excuse!
Oh if only other race organizers would look at this, and understand we are not all super human fast runners, its just needed a bit of leeway and here its how it can be done
Amex - it looks like he is saying you can start early but you still have to make the cut off in 2 hours - but how would the marshal know if you were an early starter?
Good idea:, but is that right? £15? Still represents a bargain I reckon but a significant jump on last coupla years iirc. Just want to check. & what's the pre-booked price?
