I can't see the weather being as interesting as two years ago.:(
Nope....I've managed to find it all by myself!
The main car park is £5 but that's for ALLLLLLL day, although you'd have to get there early in case it's full of minibuses with daytrippers!
Some of will be running for a lot longer than others and the fact the hall is right on the carpark can only be a bonus on wobbly legs?!
Next year I'm definitely doing this or at least I'm going to the recce having missed twice
Have a good run everyone!
Have a good un on Sunday folks - will be marshalling somewhere on the route so say Hallo. Remember the race starts at Mam Nick so don't blast off in the 1st half.
Have a gud un everybody.:D
Can't even get out to watch, I'm in Durham working for the next few weekends.
Just wanted to wish one and all the very best for sunday, ive just come back from the phsyio and have been told in no uncertain terms NOT to run cos of my shoulder:(:(. Absolutely gutted........Have a great day everyone.
And remember , if your parking in Edale.
Keep the noise down for gods sake. Respect the local residents.
And lets not have any litter dropped on the route:confused:.
ohh, I'm starting to tense up, need a pre-race massage??
Gonna strap both ankles up, taking no chances, been over on both in the last fortnight.
Siz yal tomorrow.
Car Parking arrangements
Please car share wherever possible.
The pay and display car parks at the Village Hall and the Railway station will be available for use by runners, upon payment of the appropriate fees.
There are two FREE raceday car parks available to runners, which marshalls will direct you to upon arrival in Edale itself. The earliest arrivals will be directed to the car parking area beyond the Station. This is 2 minutes walk from the Village Hall, is hard-standing and will be filled up first.
The second car park will be used when the first one is full. Marshalls will direct you to the access road leading to Shaw Wood Farm where the farmer, Mr Andrew Critchlow has very kindly made a field available, as last year. Please follow the marshalls instructions as to where to park. This car park is closer to 10 minutes walk from Registration in the Village Hall.
To recap, those people arriving in Edale early will be parked closest to the Village Hall, those arriving later will have to use the car park furthest away - now there's an incentive to be there to register and kit check in good time!

Your wish is my command Emm - Jaffa cakes too :)
Recently (2 weeks) broken shoulder not healed enough to let me do this.
Just about manage a flat road run so safer for all parties if I bow out.
I'll pop out and say hello. So glad I did the reccy, but its not the same!
Hope you get the weather you're wanting - speaking to some folks they want the clag well and truly down.
Need to do some running soon as the vast supply of MRT Ale I bought is sitting on my midrift!

re: edale village, looking at the map, can we drive through the car park at mam nick, over the top to drop down t'other side into edale?
you dont drive through the carpark but yes you can drive through mam nick down to edale. see you there.:):)
Good luck to you all doing this tomorrow. ;)
Looks like a tough but great route!
Have fun! Wish I was joining you! x
Just finished my decorating duties
thats my pre race prep
Dont Forget To Change Your Clocks Everyone
Night Night!
Hope nobody misses the start due to the clock changes, and everyone has a great time. Enjoy!!!
Hasn't anyone finished yet?
Or have they all collapsed in a heap at the end?:D
Plenty in a heap at the end...or topping up tan's on a gorgeous day
quite a tough route, some nice hills in the first half then flattish second half but tougher due to bog trotting and boulder dancing
just under 3.50 for me...winner prob at home by then:D
still great race on a lovely day and a friendly low key atmosphere:)
Well my Edale outing was pretty much a train wreck, start to finish. I managed to steer the train home but it wasn't a pretty sight :D. 4:07 ish but I was near death from Brown Knoll all the way to the end. I've lost whatever slim ability I used to have I think.
Great day, the sun shined and it was a great race as well.
Just about to replenish those calories lost with a large chicken balti and a few bottles of Landlord. :)
My thanks to the organisers/marshalls for all their efforts.
i'd say the marshals were the most encouraging, enthusiastic and fun I've ever encountered in any sport
I won an unofficial best trousers award at one check point from a young lady with impeccable taste !:o
This was very painful from mam nick onwards. The bogs were slow going as I didnt want the twinges of cramp to increase to full blown spasms. A bit of kendal mint cake helped me down the last descent. Got lost among the peat mounds. All those paving slabs crippled my knees but the lounging around in the field at the end was a really nice way to end the race... and start the cramps. Big Bad Daddy! (for all you Cramps fans out there).
The weather couldn't have been better, Edale was gorgeous.
Well done Linda for leading me across the bogs. Well done Emmi for still managing to look glamourous after such a slog, well done to Stolly for hobbling round on a dodgy ankle and still making a great time, I didnt ask Daz his time, a man of that stature is above keeping time, I'm sure, big respect.
Good post race buffet, excellent, we even got a nice certificate.
I'm now stuffed full of 'all you can eat Indian Buffet'... again.
Heres to the next bout of pain.
Thanks for Jaffa cake Manhar.
ouch.. aya caramba!
What else do you want to know? Dark Peak won the men's & women's team prizes.
At least 3 people discovered the truth about the down & up (Lloyd wasn't running due to a snow-boarding accident) - Phil W. went from 3rd to 6th, Rob Murray & Simon Patten both lost about 10 places. I bet they don't go that way next year. And some old cripple was 1st V50 (just).
The cakes were excellent. The weather was just about as perfect as possible.
