Steady 5m this morning, hip feeling pretty much back to normal now and I felt like I could stride out properly again. Happy days
16 miles. Baildon Moor to 12 Apostles, over to Rombalds Moor, Ilkley Moor & back to Baildon via Weecher.
Heavy snow spoiled my fun today so I ended up with a rather dull 10.2 miles and 1750ft ascent on urban roads with 3 x 100ft hill reps thrown in
Nipped round Stretton Skyline today.
Very steady, legs still sore from intervals!
Oh and plenty of real ale last night might have had something to do with it!
Leeds Parkrun today for me 15th overall and 4th in my age group (M25-29) 18:20 for 5k :) Happy with that!
18miler in the morning tomorrow so best get resting
pb @ bramhall parkrun 23:28 that will do for me!
Amen to that :)
Still slightly tight actually but not painful anymore. I rested it till Wednesday and I've run every day since (normal for me), but starting reduced distance and building up. Parkrun today was a test really to see how I felt at full stretch, and thankfully it worked out ok. Off for a long run tomorrow though so I'll see how that goes (fingers crossed)
big day yesterday and a return to some climbing.
around 28 miles 7800ft. a trip round the Kinder Killer with GreenFlash, Dave and Lewis, nice a clear for the most part, probably the best day out on Kinder you can have.
19 hilly miles done this morning with 2 clubmates (on the road though for a change). Ran from Airebrough Leisure centre to Almscliff Crag and back via Otley. Tough run considering I ran hard yesterday but still managed to keep up and finished in 2:30 so not a bad effort.
Hip/glute pain is most definitely history, didn't bother me hardly at all today other than a vague tightness in the first few miles :)
9.8 miles with 1450ft ascent to round of my biggest running week ever with approx 63miles and 14161ft ascent. Not quite as much as I'd hoped but still a good week for me! I'll be spending most of next week in recovery mode eating cake
Legs still wuthered after the Hobble. 5m run/walk in the sun with dog, lovely day out there.
11.5 miles from Wessenden Head to Black Hill summit. Then the Crowden Horseshoe (Little Brook variation), back to Soldier's Lump & down to Wessenden Head. 11.5 in 2:26, 2600 feet up and down. Nice blizzard on top.
8 miles 1800ft, 1hr 25mins in the rain up to withins pub via some very boggy bits of the calderdale way. The minute I got home the sun came out.......
gentle 4 mile recovery run, bumped in to a couple of park rangers I know so stopped for a chat. stunning sunshine after this mornings rain
A day when it was well worth getting chores out the way in the morning - drove up to Ilkley Old Road between Ilk & Add'm then c12 miles 1500ft in 2hr 5 mins - Dales Way into Add'm - Beamsley Beacon - a bit of exploring before getting back on main path to Round Hill- down to shooting hut-Middleton Moor-Middleton Woods - Ilkley riverside-Dales Way back to car - glorious afternoon and not a sole on the BB-RH section apart from one other runner about 100m ahead.
Not many fish up there, MT.
I cracked my first 10 mile run around John o' Gaunt's castle since Christmas without my calf going twang. All of a fortnight to prepare for Edale Skyline. I like a challenge.
That said I didn't check the Wharfe for fish either, although we'd all be gobsmacked to find sole in the Wharfe around Ilkley!!!:D
Well done on the 10 miler - mine was my first over 10 miler since last calf problem - but I'm only aiming for the easier challenge of the Baildon Boundary Way half-mara in 4 weeks.
Rivington again for me today. 10.5 miles and 1,500' up and over past the mast to loop back round to the top barn. Blowy on the top but dry. New PB today; managed to make a humbug last for 5 miles!
Starbotton-Arncliffe-Kettlewell-Gt Whernside-Kettlewell-Arncliffe-Starbotton, 15ml / 5500ft with Stef. Beautiful day for running!
Recovery run of 4.5 miles yesterday after the mashing of my legs in the hobble, feel good today though!
Post-Hobble 3300 feet up & down Frodsham Hill 17 times. It felt easier than I thought it would, but that's not saying much. MInd you the Hobble didn't trash me as badly as the South Shropshire Circular LDWA event the other week - that was seriously gnarly. First time this year in shorts & sweatband instead of tracksters & buff. The sky was blue, the birds were singing. Spring's nearly here! (except for viewers in Scotland).
Another easy 1 hour 20 in Nidderdale, starting to enjoy things again. Nice sunny day, once the frost had gone.
I was good. I went for my lunch time run today and I ran it as quickly as I could
Sore foot now though, I think I had a loose orthotic
7.30 a.m, headed off over Baildon Moor & up on to Bingley & Burley Moor in the clag. Just what I needed. Head full of house move/advanced driving test today. 8.15 miles in a very steady 1h 7mins.
11m in total to work and back, legs seemed to have recovered from the Hobble..................strange, seeing how they had a sense of humour failure going through Penistone Hill. Going for 40-50mile week, dog can't wait for weekend.
Fog's not lifted all day!
9 mile fartlek session on road with the club, took off with Tim Midgley for a bit of pushing and kept up with him ok. Several sub 5min/mile pace intervals ranging from 0.1m to 0.4m with a few hills thrown in for good measure. Knackered now, but it was a good session
Blimey, nobody else training?
Weds - 3.5 mile recovery run
Today - 6 mile steady this morning, 3 mile tempo this aft
mon-rest
Tue-3.0 mile tempo run
wed- 4.0 mile fartlek session
Thu- 3.5 mile steady run
All on treadmill, thinking of going out today though for maybe 1 hour.
2nd half of skyline with Splatcher and Spookster,
Spookster and I did the down and up Splatcher went round and split us up. all arriving within 2 minutes of each other.
Cool wind but lovely and sunny, Marvin came out to meet us before we set off.
Monday, Arenig Fawr about 10 miles. Tues, carnedds about 12 miles and Wed, Nattle Ridge there and back from Rhyd ddu. thigh a bit sore but if it settles down might just do Wolfs Pit?
