Thanks alf. All done
im planning on doing this for the first time this year, looking forward to it immensely, I havent ran in the howgills much but know they are steep and grassy, so it should be good running? whats a good time for this? Ive kind of focused my training a little bit at this race in as much as ive done some long fell stuff in training recently as well as my usuall speed work, hoping for a good run ... :) who else is doing it?
am gonna have a bash
Sent my entry form off (late!) today, heard there should be spaces, so hopefully see you up there!
Any chance of a chat Rev? I'll be wearing a Pennine top (and probably blue shorts)
I sent mine off earlier in the week, no word back but hoping im in!! Doing 2 legs of the bg 2moro night and if I get through that unscathed I will be there Ba Ba, I'll look out for ye, was intending on camping over in Dent the evening b4 for a few ales.......
entry confirmed :) not much activity on this thread, I thought this would be the type of race lots would be doing..... cant wait for another week of battered quads after sunday :p
Well I'll be there. I love this race and hate it at the same time if that makes sense.
2 attempts before with a 3:30 target and I've managed 3:31 and 3:38.
Been cruising to CP3 and then struggled with that down/up/down from Simon's Seat and over Hazelgill Knott. Going Ok last time until I slipped and started cramping.
Plan to get to CP3 a few minutes slower, probably descend from Arant Haw a little steadier as I've had a tendancy to tear down there. Hopefully then I'll get to the Calf with enough left to enjoy the run in.
Just one thing - it's been flagged off Winder before, but I hate that run off - it always seems to take me in to 6ft tall bracken.
Am I allowed to take my own route, especially as the flags only last for a short distance, they aren't that much use!
