I had borrowed my wife's swimming goggles just in case :D

Thanks for the timely call. They had just dug out the road near Kirkby Moor and removed the only barrier.
Common sense prevails. We had to set off today to get there but I've lain back in the bed imagining IDP's beer stash. Good golly

We had a cornice on our cat flap. The cat was sat there with its legs crossed when I got up this morning :D
Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
What are the chances of the race being re-arranged for a different date?
Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
Sounds like the right call has definately been made, thanks once again to Ian for all your efforts. For what its worth there isn't any snow in Manchester, just a few flakes now and again.
Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
Good call Ian and well done. 2007 was epic enough and I suspect this would have been far worse. Clear and decisive and timely - spot on. Sorry for the disappointment you must be feeling but you have my respect :-)

We had about 3 inches of snow in North Manchester. Just off out for a run in it.
Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
Gutted for you Ian and more than little sad for myself. For what its worth I don't think anyone could have handled things any better.

See news item on FRA website. It sounds as if that decision is yet to be made.

Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
Well done IanF, good call. There's about 6" of snow in lodge moor, still falling and drifting over welly height in places.
IanDP, I'll have half a dozen rescue ales next time I see you if that helps with the backlog!
