7m/872ft steady with mutt, bit windy and rainy then sunny and red hot. New route from Ripponden up to Great Manshead End, great views all round, see right over to Holme Moss and Stoodley Pike in the other direction. Not a soul about.

Nipped round my old 7m training loop this morning. Might actually turn out for a race tomorrow, seen as I'm home :)
a quick run to the col du Fornet
3,570 ft 6 miles ran in to clag as I hit the col very cold and not a soul around, chased by 4 bernese mountain dogs on the descent, which spoiled the run.
8.5km trip up Win Hill from Hope, up via Twitchill Farm to Hope Cross and back....great running with a friend for a change. amazingly clear day - felt like you could reach out and grab Crook Hill and Derwent Edge, they seemed so close. and the heather is Really Purple right now!
5.5 mile club run tonight. First run I've done since screwing up my ankle. I wore my lace up ankle brace and it held up pretty well. Slight soreness in there tonight but minimal swelling and no trouble running at all. Hopefully a quick recovery is on the cards
9.4 miles up from Burley-In-Wharfedale over the moors to Ilkley & back. Very windy & autumnal, but very enjoyable.
A soggy trundle up through the Dovvies Quarries, autumns in the air, great stuff :-)
A super wet bogtrot around the full tour route on Pendle this morning/aft.
Didn't spot a single soul out there today.
45 mins on the cross trainer tonight with the resistance cranked up to full. Pretty hard work but I figure it should help my climbing as well as being easier on my recovering ankle than running
A gentle 6.5 mile over Black Hill and down to Crowden in 1:21. First trip out for nearly a month and enjojed the walk back!
1hr 45 mins across the moors above Darwen with Jamie and Neil.
Should have been about an hour, but Jamie knows theses moors like the back of his hand.......:w00t:
Training run round the Three Shires, after a recce last week. Going great guns until I fell on the way down towards wrynose pass, and peeled my knee and shin on a boulder.
Many thanks to the Duke of Edinburgh support team who just happened to be parked there, and kindly bandaged me up.
Run then resumed along the road back to the van, too painful to consider Blisco and Lingmoor.
10ish miles over the hills with dog in Baregrips (me not the dog) Did see some grippy boot type things for dog's paws in Keswick though!!??
Really good day of distance and climbing... Up at 6 and ran dog (Pumpkin the spaniel...1...2..3.. aaahhh.... name not my idea) up and down Teggs Nose -- 600' of climb. Then leave Pumpkin at home... she'll not do more than 15 miles in one go.
Out with Dave from Macc to do first half of Bullock Smithy route (~25 miles and 5000' -- the bulk of the climbing is in the first half of the BS route).
Lift back to car; McDonald's to refuel (well, because I could!) and then back for trot up to Macc Forest and back via top of Teggs (perhaps another 1000') with Pumpkin.
Very satisfactory day all told....:D
Need to do one of these a month for the next few months on top of usual regime of distance and climb... and we'll see where that takes us.
How are the baregrips? Look like flip-flops to me;)
odg langdale up the band to bowfell double back across the crinkles to pike o blisco n back to odg for a pint of the black stuff then on the bike for a warm down, 3200ft of accent ish

14.25 miles from New Mills up Laneside Road over to Cracken Edge, Chinley Churn then across Ollersett Moor to the Peep o Day then over to Hayfield, up the Snake Path to the shooting cabin, left towards Carr Meadow/Lantern Pike, up Lantern Pike, round the back of it and back down Sitch Lane into New Mills.
c. 2800 ft of ascent and a nice chicken roast afterwards!
Jealous of all this running going on. 30mins/15k done on the exercise bike earlier today on max resistance. Trying to rest my ankle as much as possible with the intention of running Burnsall classic this weekend. Wish me luck....................
Around 2-3 hours on Pendle this morning.
A five mile trott over West Nab and along the water courses back to Slawit.
7 miles home from work-its coming back again slowly!
Quick hour on Pendle tonight with a couple of Bowlanders :)
Half marathon distance last night on the Leeds Country way route. First serious run since crocking my ankle and all seems well. Still wore a brace but didn't have any issues
A tad over ten miles and around 1600 feet of up and down from the PW at Standedge cutting, up to the A635 along the old PW and down to Wessenden Head and back via the new PW. As is traditional I did a bit of tresspass along the re-routed PW to Blakely Clough. There has been a fresh landslide so care needed.
Alport fell race
6.6 miles 2150 ft One of Dark Peaks hardest club races with a top class field to boot, I think I heard there were 48 runners! 14th (I think for me) definitely need the beer afterwards....
Good win for Neil( he of the Roving box)
2 to 3 hours this morning, very nice views out!
7.5 miles 1000' climb lunchtime run. Quite warm out there despite the cloudy conditions.
Up at Dent today, nice....good ale as well ;)
easy trot out in Glen Clova today, great run because some daft bugger has given me a job. Easy run, felt crap, injuries are sorted tho and now I can get out running in the highlands every week. Bloody brilliant, I've also discovered an unknown passion for baking bread.... who knew
Scotland, early December. I'll dust the KTS spikey feet and axe off!!! I can afford to get into ski touring now too
A tad over 10 up the old PW from the A635 to Black Hill summit, down Wessenden, up Blakely Clough and along the old PW back to the start. 1700 feet up and down in 2 hours.
A quick 6 mile 1400ft trot of the local hill, first hints of proper running coming along. Just scoffing some brekkie then off for some hills on a sunny day
Time to start building up again
7 miles ont pendle yesterday, 1021ft of climb 1025ft of descent 55min run!
10 miles over the howden moors from the woodhead pass...fiddlers green, roundhill, watershed path towards bleaklow, grinah, barrow stones, shooting cabins then back along the track and up hoar clough to the watershed path......absolutely stuffed when i got back
