Mickleden Straddle route from Iron Gates CP. Did a little variation up Wilferry Edge and part way down again. 2600ft ups and downs, 12.74 in just under 2:28. Nice.
18 miles round the hills of Rossendale with dogs and Mrs.Crumblydown, even the dog's got a finishers certificate with their names on:thumbup:
Leg 4 of the LCW relay, 11.5 miles in 1:20. Quite hard work
10 miles and 2500ft from Glen Clova, largely off path with some very rough ground. Still not feeling strong on the hill but improving, pretty sure I spotted an Eagle to boot. Awesome views over to Lochnagar, Mount Keen, Corrie Fee, and Mayar and Driesh. Managed to suprise some walkers by pretty much falling down the hill onto the Jocks road. Really very glad to be able to afford getting out to the hills every week, the sunny weather probably helped too.
Spent the last 3 days running on the flat around Stockton and Middlesbrough (66mins, 84ish mins not finding 'boro Parkrun, 40ish mins) - can't wait until I get my wheels and can head off into the North York Moors - I can see them but they're a bit inaccessible at the mo'!
I will NOT become a road runner!
30mins in hotel gym (treadmill and stepper) plus 100 squats and a few mins on Swiss ball wobbling about
Car-loosehill backtor-Edale-grinsbrook Knoll-Ringing Roger-Edale-Hollins cross and back to car. longest run for many a long time!

PS would be nice to meet up for a run sometime. Out of action for a couple of weeks now but late Sept onwards. Also thinking of doing the South Wales traverse next Summer so keen to build the distance again during the Winter.
9.6 miles. Saltaire over the moors to Burley. Wet, windy & autumnal. Only spoilt by my constant companion....my grumbling stomach.
Same race as ian dp yesterday, just a few minutes slower and a with a couple of tumbles in sight of the finish.
Short but hilly run with the dog this afternoon. 3 miles and lots of feet of climb, along with a swim (for the dog, not me) in the river loxley.
8 miles round Bramhope, Harewood and Eccup tonight with the club. Last planned run before the Yorkshireman on Sunday. Might do a leg stretch later in the week but conscious now of getting my legs to recover properly in time.
5km 'warm up' then 6x800m(80sec rec[20walk;60jog]) in the local park. Flat.
30mins in gym, 150 squats, a few minutes sat on an enormous Swiss Ball plus five minutes wandering about lost in the hotel corridors trying to explain to the lad who looks after the gym the difference between 'lift' and 'left' :o
Another half hour in hotel gym earlier today including a few 'Friday efforts' :o
a 12 miler with 2200ft ascent to round of a 40+ mile week
Last nights Gin did not help
well its been ages since i have been able to write in this thread due to an injury but i did 3.5 miles at 8min/mile pace today and it felt awesome just to be able to run again and no flare ups either.
My standard 30mins in hotel gym plus something that is becoming a bit of an addiction: wobbling about, balancing on a Swiss Ball. 130squats too
I started off on the treadmill and it felt a bit odd because the machines here in Bangladesh measure in imperial miles etc, whereas China has obviously been brought into line with Breezian policy and they use kilometers :closed:
Reverse of the Settle Loop with Justin Timberworks, a bit of extra hillwork thrown in at the end for the sake of masochism.
The field section of the run was nearly as muddy as the Great Westmorland Trail yesterday. 1hr 45mins.
Mickleden Straddle from Iron Gates CP. 12.8 miles with 2650 ups and downs in just under 2:26. Nice.
13 miles over the wind & rain lashed Ilkley Moors. Hugely enjoyable run with no dippy tummy. Stepping up a gear now for The Yorkshire Ultra in November.
Said 'deranged friend' had mistakenly thought that the two runners were leading the Settle Loop field but has since found out that they were going in the wrong direction and a week early...I blame the source of their information!
26 and a bit painful Yorkshireman miles today, ouch!
7 miles along the sand/mud last night. On the return leg I headed out from shore to scare myself a bit. It was remarkably enjoyable to run along the sand, a few hundred metres out from the sea wall, with a little pool of headtorch light in front of me.
10 miles 1700' partially wind assisted mudfest run today :D
Relatively brisk 2miles on treadmill this morning. 5mins sat on Swiss Ball cooling down
