Re: Stolly Hill Runs 2010
I love your pics Stolly, I'm off down that way myself before long for a 3 peaks recce/walk having not actually done the route yet. Looking forward to it immensely
Re: Stolly Hill Runs 2010
I'll be sad to see the end of this thread, I've enjoyed your pics.

This is probably the finale to my stolly runs - I'm probably as fed up with them now as Johnny Foreigner! Anyway it was a cracker on a beautiful morning following
What! are we not getting an XMAS special ?
It will be a shame to see it stop Stolly. I have really enjoyed the pictures and the ideas for routes round that area.
Thanks

Hear hear! Stolly, will Harry be putting in an appearance at XOTF?

Neither me nor Harry will be XOTFing this time round SS - we're visiting Santa at Ingleborough Cave instead. And given that we've now had some proper winter weather I thought it would be a shame not to have a final finale to the stolly runs. Same run as last time minus Harry who had the snip on Friday and is grounded while his stitches are in.
Exiting the top of Cleatops Wood with High Hill on the horizon and Warrendale Knotts behind that, largely out of sight:

A similar view again but this time Settle is (sort of) in the picture on the left

High Hill gets a bit closer

Closer still...

And even closer. My route up which is of course runnable :) follows that sheep trod before hooking right along the top of the ridge.

Settle viewed from the top of High Hill with the whale back of Pendle just about visible on the horizon.

If you know where to look all of the 3 peaks, Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen y Ghent, are visible in this picture. Viewed from nearing the top of Warrendale Knotts.

Stolly looking a gumby as usual, taken with the camera perched on the trig point

Anyway that really is enough :D
