Tore my calf last year and was out of running for a time, had to be patient, that was the hard part, did the cylce bit and got a mini trampoline on the advice of the physio, it was a good move started running on the spot and it takes all the impact also found it good for core stability work and good for the ankles, try standing on one leg with a moving surface. Keep your chin up and you will soon be back and you can thrash me again in the ppp.
Been to the fracture clinic today. I'm now allowed to load the toe-end of my foot with 25% of my body weight. Pot on for another 3 weeks. Might have to give Ennerdale a miss this year......and Wasdale and Borrowdale and Three Shires and Langdale....etc. etc. Should be getting back out just as the dark nights arrive and the cold, shitty weather starts.
But I'm not bitter
You have my deepest sympathy, Goose fat.
At least you know why you are not able to run and there is a proposed course of treatment/recovery..........hang in there.
(And feel free to rant/wail/vent/abandon your woes on these pages as you travel the road to recovery.)
Anyone with any experience of having bursae (back of knee) drained/injected?
It's going to happen for me on 4/7/8........quite frankly, I'm a bit scared.
Any advice/experience???
Time to resurrect this one for all the hypochondriacs out there.... :(
1. Sprained ankle
2. Getting over a heavy cold <sniff sniff>
As they coincided I'm forced to take a week orf. :(
knee is much better, still a slight "twinge" at the side of it, no running for another week, but i'm going for a nice walk in t' hills tomorrow
OH BUGGER.........I appear to have given myself an ice burn to my (previously slightly) sore knee.
I have to say that I am soooooooooo annoyed with this that I can feel a full on strop coming on!!
I blame it all on having tempted the injury gods:- I have entered a race.
How foolish can you get?
Is it worth crying, or what??
