Aye, did it last year, quite a bit of snow as i remember, can't bloody remember what i wore though:o
Remember some slippy flags before the drop into Crowden, some lady fell and gashed her leg quite badly.
Oh well, just turn up in whatever takes me fancy on sunday morning and hope job'll be reet, that's the main thing, turning up..........and finishing:)

slabs will be slippy but don't think the snow will give much trouble if at all. yes there's a fair amount of trail/road but the descent off BH and then Bleaklow plus the crossing and descent off Kinder. it's still wet up there.

Re: Tanky's Trog 2009 is on!!
Bus spaces!
There's a Pennine minibus leaving Hayfield at 0700 for Marsden and returning from Edale when everyone's back (or until we get bored waiting) to Hayfield. We've got two drop outs so PM me through the forum before teatime on Saturday if you want a seat. Cost is less than a tenner but depends on how full we get the bus.

where did you find these Merry? I really like the look of them but not many places have them, even online.
What's the fit like, widthwise? cos I'm not sure they come in the 2E wide fitting that NB do (couldn't see any online anyway).

Re: Tanky's Trog 2009 is on!!
nb 840 feel like slippers to me, but I was planning on wearing them because of the road section. Not so sure now but they held up well on our kinder and bleaklow reccies.
Might go back to mudclaw.
But anyway on to the main point of my almost pointless post:
Cough, cough fecking cough fecking splutter.
Still running though.

Got em here mate http://www.sportsshoes.com/product/N...d)-trail-shoe/
Went to the shop in Bradford to ensure a perfect fit. Didn't know they did a wide fitting, think mine are just a standard fit, hope you find some to suit;)

Re: Tanky's Trog 2009 is on!!
Glad I'm not only one with shoe dilemmas :o Battered but comfy 330 Mudclaw, Highlanders or red Roclite 285, light but might make final descent interesting

Taken the fizz out my special drink and looking forward to a good day out.
what times it start ?
-
Re: Tanky's Trog 2009 is on!!
Have a good do tomorrow folks. Take care on the greasy slabs - nearly came a cropper once or twice yesterday whilst out on the way to Kinder via Burnt / Mill hill, was wearing Inov 8's 330's (?) - the yellow striped ones.
If the weather is reasonable may be mooching around somewhere on Bleaklow, offering encouragement & Christmas cake. :)
Will look forward to reading/hearing your heroic tales.

Re: Tanky's Trog 2009 is on!!
Undecided whether to get a frontal lobotomy tonight and then run up torside clough!! Lol
Only joking I will be going up wild boat clough and saving myself at least 20 mins.
Good luck to all especially those brave soles who choose to extend the race by navigational choice- rather you than me
Sleep well!

before I made my choice I ran different options, timed them and measured the distances.
never more than 5 minutes difference, and perhaps 0.5 mile on my 2 optimum routes going either way.
