Steve - thank you so much for bringing that Dropkicks/Bosstones collaboration to my attention, Dicky Barrett's unique voice just adds that little extra something to an already fantastic song - When they put it on the end of the last episode of Shameless series 6 (at Mandy's Wake) and they have a mass brawl to it, excellent TV!
Anyway, tonight I've been listening to Alabama 3's radio on lastfm, a fairly eclectic mix from Terrorvission to Richard Thompson/Seth Lakeman. I can't pick my fave A3 song so here's their best known song:

One of the albums of the year, thus far, that one DT !
Maybe this is worth a mention maybe it's not.
Quite a lot of Pete Tong's anniversary show can be downloaded from various sites. His Top 20 dance tracks of the last 20yrs and his anniversary essential mix amongst other show features. There's some great bits about the use of Born Slippy in Trainspotting, and Thomas Bangalter handing Pete the first test pressing of Stardust. I don't share a taste in house with Tongy, but it's a must hear for dance music afficionados.
Another excellent track Steve.
Was on the way back from an event last week, turned on Radio1 and was very very surprised, but completely thrilled, to hear this:

(they then played this piece of 'fried gold':
