Hmmm....3.7 miles, approx 100' climb!! Thought it would be 5 at least!! Was muddy tho......
I think this is the first time I've run twice in a day and it was really good. Had a muddy 10miler this morning then a headtorch speed session at harriers this evening. 8 x 2min efforts with a minute recovery. Am a bit knackered now though!:)
I ran the 14 miles to work this morning in 2 hours. Slowly does it!
Yesterday 2 hours slog through the mud on the mtb.
Today 40 mins run with 5 hill reps thrown in. Weights and stretching this evening
Steady canal run tomorrow and oxenhope saturday
Track tonight on a balmily nearly warm night, slightly surreal, anyway it was a VO2 Christmas Tree session, oh joy, about 6 miles in all.
Its all part of the build up for the Esk Valley Christmas/New Year trio of Guisborough Woods, Captain Cooks and Clay Bank East, Brill:D.
Love the Guisborough Woods Race! I bona fide classic! Working this year! :( Only done Capt Cooks once...nearly hoyed at the finish!! New Years Day can be a bad day to race! Nine Standards is a good one tho too!
I ran to work from Lincoln to Coningsby all the way along the River Witham - just under 24 miles, 3hrs 30, altitude gain about zero but I did go over a couple of bridges. that Lincolnshire for you. Very jealous of all you guys who live in the hills!
A slow 5 miles on the local hills, last nights salads followed by a cheese board failed to provide suitable fuelling, aided no doubt by zero brekkie and zero lunch.
The wine had nothing to do with it!!!
Looking forward to a good 4hrs out tomo running around some woods working on my Nav..... at least I think Im looking forward to it....
A good 13 miles out with Pete Beer llanberis to Snowdon and then followed the Paddy B back into Llanberis. I drove back home whilst pete put in that bit extra up onto Elidir.
6m to work, 8m home, resisted going to the pub with workmates, track record's not good when that happens:thunbdown:
A steady 3 mile with 750' of climb, got a sweat on in the rain.
8.4 miles 1350' climb taking in Top of Pike then back down round the reservoirs and climb up to Dixon's Brow, joining the Rochdale Way and returning via Forsyth Brow.
I was born and raised in Lincs and lived in Scampton and Saxilby. I used to train on the Edge; this usually involved cycling/runnig or drivign from home to Burton then running frmo there. Managed to get some really good hill rep sessions in. As I recall, the South Common was ok as well. Live down south now - so further still from real mountains but we have the Downs. Enjoy.
8 miles xc with the hound, mostly flat at a reasonble pace. The pint of Tribute slipped down a treat afterwards ...
5.3 miles with a whopping 104.7ft of climbing. Now time to eat, drink and be grumpy!
5 miles to the summit of Hartshead Pike with young Fleeter,a good way to shake of last nights wine fest
Merry Christmas.
12.01 miles, 1144ft of up - had to go up/down 24 times to achieve this .... Merry Xmas!
Getting off couch to find tv diddler to change chanels...............1 rep
Going down cellar for more beer.......................1 rep
Getting off couch to go to toilet.............1 rep, only just made it.
Quads are wrecked now, back on couch!
Attachment 5463Did go out for a short trot this morning with new camera, no idea how it works but managed to snap the dog chasing me uphill............only because i threw a stone downhill for her to bring back:rolleyes:
A two mile plod up and down the Wessenden Valley. First run out for 28 days due to illness. Now to do the 12 days of Christmas. Day 1, 2 miles, day 2, 3miles etc.
Got to get back up for the Trigger.
Good blast in woods today with dog - about 4 miles then 5* 60 second uphill blasts. Felt about a stone heavier after yesterday and had lovely heartburn for most of it. 6 glasses of port'll do it!
Cracking run out on Farnhill Moor with Sam today c4ml / 800ft. Only got mildly lost once (I'm not used to be up there in the light) :o
Nice 3.3 miler back home from the shoulder of West Nab. Ran through a litter of piglets that had escaped their pen.
8.5 miles 1900' round Turnslack Fell Race Course. Very boggy up there at the moment and I was very slow round after 2 days of overdoing it :D
2.5ml or so round village on road with Stef
5.1 miles along the river. Day 6 of the road to ruin.
Good club run out yesterday, the hills where busy. Many people with a need to burn of some mince pies
10.6 windy miles from Menston, over to Baildon, past The famous Woolpack, through the woods & back to Menston. Tom Adams left me for dead on the hills & made me feel every one of my 40 years.
Saturday 6* hill reps steady up and fast down,Subday rest,Monday 8*500m reps,Tuesday 10k steady,Wednesday 3k steady and I am over 4kg lighter than this time last year so off to a good start
3m walk with dog, hard enough walking in the wind, never mind running. Just got back back before the heavens opened with all sorts of Winter gubbins. Sat here looking out the window and feeling for anyone out there on the hills, especially them TanCatters.
a tad under seven miles around the Wessenden Valley, trying to spot the Tan Catters. 500 ft ups in 58:20. Very windy and wet.

Somewhere in the storm going north from Corney Fell, West Cumbrian fells, today. Bit blustery.
5.75 miles 1150' up to Stoodley Pike and back. Wind was in my face on the climb making it difficult but when I got close to the Pike it was so strong it stopped me in my tracks and I had to edge sideways till the Pike gave me a bit of shelter. Very fast descent though with the tailwind :D
6.75 miles 95' in and around our house and the Solway (English side!) Did well to get out I thought it was raining and blowing a hooley!! A claimed 778 calories burnt!!!....I hope so I defo need to lose a few! :)
Great run out after work, cold and crisp with crystal clear skies, especially on the northern end of the run. The white mounth looking particuarly dark in the north, a proper joy to be out on the hill!
really grim in the Lakes yestermorrow so we ended up in Kendal climbing wall all afternoon. Even though it was really busy it was a good time spent by all with much merryment and seasonal joy.
6.2 miles 1072' Pilgrims Cross race route starting from the White Horse. Wet, muddy, foggy, brilliant :D
