Re: Three Peaks Fell Race
Really looking forward to this, excited but nervous. Just seen weather forecast, sunny and about 17 degrees, sounds alright that, no warmer though.
Hoping to break 4hr 30mins, it'll be close, but so much can go wrong though, so just keeping fingers crossed.
Re: Three Peaks Fell Race
Looks like it's going to be a bit windy though!
"How Windy?
Easterly; 30 to perhaps 40mph with gusts locally 50mph.
Effect Of Wind?
Buffeting widespread, particularly on higher areas, with sudden gusts blowing downslope into some valleys." - from MWIS.
Re: Three Peaks Fell Race
Wind is ok, at least it should keep us cool. As long as we don't get rain I'm happy

Re: Three Peaks Fell Race
It still amazes me when people quote weather forecasts!
And yes, I suppose it may be windy tomorrow - but I find that reality does occasionally co-incide with the forecast.
I'll be taking a bit of kit for every eventuality and decide what to take in the hour before the race.
Re: Three Peaks Fell Race
Good luck everyone. It's already a bit windy round here! My first time so I've no idea how long it'll take.

Good luck everybody tomorrow. Just started getting my kit ready - not got owt else to do
See you in the morning.
Re: Three Peaks Fell Race
Me too and me neither! My hope is to make all the cut offs, deal with the fact that I will set off too fast because I always do and not fall over.

Just when you are hanging on in there, coming down off Ingleborough through Sulber and you're dreaming of a pint - it looks like we'll have a stiff headwind just to make it even more unpleasant :D
