Serious question if I may?
I've done absolutely s*d all running out here save the odd sprint now and again:eek: The list of runners is now almost at race length so I'm looking for a bit of reassurance that since I will be badly acclimatised (its still 40 deg + here) and have few miles in the tank will there be anybody to talk to so far behind the pack?
My conversation's not up to much but there are some interesting insect bite scars and webbing burns I'm willing to show round if that helps;)
and i dont even drink alcohol so its not like im breaking the law however i will be enjoying my own bg round of all the takeaways in keswick
Im convinced that some people on XOTF dont actually run at all......its a bit like a Geography field trip where teacher waits till everyone catches up before he extolls the virtue of understanding rocks and mud.
You should have no fear whatsoever, its a jolly and athletic ability is totally inconsequential:D
Lola, I'm very slow. :o
Like MG, I can always find my way back; no need to be looked after but I do get lonely. Especially on the long winter nights just before the festive season.
Thanks for the pm about webbing burns Tom - not that kind of webbing though I'm afraid. Nice idea though, keep it up.
Oh I almost forgot to say.
So long as all the flights work -a very very big IF. I'll be back in UK next Saturday lunchtime - hoorah hoorah.
YAY!
And no worries about being slow... Last year it was my first run after busting my ankle and I was dead slow, but the lovely Amex was quite happy to pretend to be slower than me so I did not feel lonely at the back :D
And low and behold, there was someone who was even slower than me on the descents :p
So no worries, we will keep you company at the back :)
how many are we up to with this bloody thing god it's turning into a big thing, i have booked table for about 20 an i any where near the mark??:D:eek:

I might have to recce this one Martin, where's the finish? and i'll try not to let Marshalini know about it, hush, hush, he's pretty nifty downhill.
Tom
I can get up there in a slow jog in just about half an hour. You'd probably walk it in less. Good prizes this year:):) Come and join us!
Almost certainly another low key race on the Monday (Rosey Nosey 3m 750ft) so come and do the two!! Camping (or even B&B) at the Goldie in Llangynhafal - CAMRA NWales/Merseyside pub of the year.
Did I spot someone highjacking our thread? ;)
I will be there Friday as well :)
Went and tested out Lakeland Spice on Saturday and I can confirm that food and service is still excellent :)

Yo Han, wots the plan? :D
The plan is to gossip about those that haven't arrived yet over a Snecklifter or two, somewhere in Keswick in the eve :D Maybe have a bite to eat somewhere? something simple, won't want to all be eating alone, but won't want to upstage Lakeland Spice either :) Or if the hostel allows self catering, we could cook some pasta and pig out on icecream after...?
I will bring my cross bike, so if anyone is there Friday afternoon and has an off road bike of some description, mayeb go for a ride for a couple of hours?
