A shorter than planned club ride today due to a crash that brought 3 people down with one guy being kept in hospital with 3 broken ribs near his spleen! Also had to carry a bent bike 3 miles whilst pedalling my own - not to be recommended. Apart from that not a bad ride with an Hanneke lookalike joining us after recently moving to the area from Sussex - she was bloody handy as well! Roll on summer.
Just back off hols, 25 mile 2200' ascent and averaged 14.3 mph.
HR was 154 bpm average with a max of 180.
Legs are feeling it now but it was a nice effort and I'm pleased with mi sen.
Euro Masters Track Champs out of the way... bloody hell, I enter the sprint for a bit of fun, because, you know, Hoy, Pendleton, you have to have done it once... And I end up in the bliddy ride off for the bronze, me, an endurance person with no kick because of total lack of fasttwitch muscles :w00t: SHOCKING! And almost had her too... lost my focus in the end on the last ride grrrr and I had such a brilliant plan! Just one ride too many, it is hard to build up, race, cool down, build up, race, cool down the WHOLE day for all the different heats... I was supposed to have been knocked out of the competition in the first heat, i.e. after two sprints... I tell you, it f*cked up my pursuit the next day
So out for a 4 hour ride in the small ring today, knackered as I was from all that short stuff on the track for 5 days... but, need to convert myself to an endurance tester again in the course of this week, as my first ever 100 m TT awaits on Sunday
I am going to have to work out what it is I want to focus on on the bike next season, as doing everything isn't very compatible LOL! If I had trained a bit for those track champs, I'd have had 3 medals I reckon, rather than 2x 4th, 1x 5th and 1x 6th... F*cked up my starts out of the gate as well, due to lack of experience, so a LOT of improvement to be had I reckon and I did actually really like it... I wonder if I can develop some accelleration power... *ponders*
Daz, dya fancy posting a pici of your bike? I rather like looking at it :D (the Rourke - if thats how you spell it)
I will take a picture on my I phone and try and put it on this new tangled I pad thingy I've been given. Just trying to get used to it. My laptop has ground to a halt so it might take a day or so.
Yes source is the correct spelling. Brian source cycles have a website
Work and back to new building is just shy of 36 mile round trip.
Aiming for twice this week and 3 times next.
Today felt good only steady going and a bit more effort comming home:D
Run tomorrow and cycle Thursday is the plan.
I may get a bit fitter one day:w00t:
