10k run around lake Padarn. Lovely evening :-).
Long'un for me today. Got dropped off in Rydal and ran over Fairfield, Helvellyn and the Dodds to Threlkeld. 17 miles, 6000 ft ascent.
It was a club championship hill race yesterday, TheHeartfell horse shoe, 10.5 miles, 2900ft of climbing, I came in second althoughdidn’t run as well as I would have liked. Never mind, upwards and onwards the beer that I won will go down well.

A 13.2m 3200ft trot out this morning, still feel rubbish but a good day out nonetheless
Beautiful morning in the Lakes today. The girlfriend and I had a great run from Hartsop over Grey Crag, Thornthwaite Crag, High Street, Rest Dodd, The Nab, Brock Crags and Angletarn Pikes. Got a few new Wainwrights there. I'm hoping to get them finished this year... should get me out running over some new, interesting ground. Inadvertently clocked up 10,000ft of climb this week. The legs are starting to feel a bit better after the BG.
First run out for nearly a month. 9 miles and 1200 feet up and down. Good to be back.
Saturday, 14k over to The Nick and across Ilkley Moor good run bit muddy in places, Sunday 6k steady run up Parsons Lane(green lane) felt strong, so another good run, might catch DT up at this rate.
A litle sunny lunchtime run today 8 miles 1400' . The Canada geese were waiting for me, hissing again, and this time they weren't going to get out of my way so I had to do a detour around them.
10 miles. Saltaire over the moors to Burley-In-Wharfedale. Knee just about held up. May yet make The Wharfedale Off Road Marathon. Shorts & t-shirt, must be summer.
The Trunce. No pb despite the stampeding cow!!
First time in forever my legs feel great. All the treatment is paying off :-). Still slow though.
Bad run of training!! Nowt for 10 days! Work, trip to Scotland and sheer idleness getting in the way!! Back on the wagon today and tomorrow I hope!! Then nowt until Jura!!! Can't wait!! :)
Currently filling my boots...........10 miles tempo last night, 3 mile steady recovery this morning followed by 6 mile Off road intervals tonight......It won't last!!
Trunce 4 on Monday, 20 ml bike ride Tuesday :-)
Monday 7k around the fields of Addingham and Tuesday night club run over the Chevin
Just done Addingham town centre to summit of Beamsley Beacon and back this morning, approx 6 1/2miles. Pretty small distance but let me tell you it was an absolute watershed for me and I'm absolutely delighted I made it in one piece. My grade 2 right MCL sprain and left tibial compression fractures from 6 weeks ago were niggly but bearable. Totally pumped I'm back running and it looks like I will be fit to fulfill my leg 2 BGR support duties for MartynP come 8th June!
Only running I've done the last two days is to the toilet. Does that count?
Shortish club run out into the Howgills from Cautley tonight. About 6m and 2000ft. Warm and Sunny with fog rolling in from the sea.
The brilliant Badgerstone Relays last night. 1 mile up, 1 down. Lungbusting, but great fun. Then ran home along the moor ridge, 6 miles, back to Burley. A beautiful evening.
Saturday 10.5 mile Club Champ’ hill race 2900ft of climbing.
Sunday 5 mile recovery run.
Tuesday 4.2 mile Club Champ’ road race, it was tough.
Wednesday 20 miler, ran to railway station from home 9 miles, then station to work 1 mile. and return with small rucksack.
Today got 5 mile hill run, club training session planned but to be truthful I feel fooked:thunbdown:, it is the racing that takes it out of me I am sure.:o

Trot out over Scout Scar yesterday morning, an up and down yesterday evening in the Howgills with Kendal AC and a tough few hours this morning from Wet Sleddale over Selside Pike, Branstree, Tarn Crag, Grey Crag and a few minor tops in the Shap Fells... bloody hard work up there in the heat and lots of pathless, boggy ground. It's very quiet up there and little trodden, a very different corner of the Lakes.
A ridiculously hot 12 miles from Lancaster to the top of Clougha Pike and back. Wasn't planning on going off-road but it was far too hot to stay on the road and decided to try and gain some height to cool off! Didn't see anyone up there.
Very hot 8m with dog, plenty of dips in the river en route.
51m/12800ft for the week plus 50m on singlespeed as well, think I'll treat me self to a pint or two tonight:thumbup:
Fantastic day in the sun on Kinder. Started with a lap round the Mount Famine race route. Then to the reservoir and climbed up Sandy Heys. " Enjoyed " that so much I decided to go back down and climb it all again. That hurt ! Back to the car to top up on drinks before climb up to Kinder Low, down to Upper Booth and staggered back over Jacobs Ladder.
Around 20 miles and 6300 ft climbing.
Same as you now Steve, pint or 2 tonight
Had a morning out with IanDarkPeak Fisherfield way, I bailed on the route very early on an managed approx 13 or 14 miles, maybe 2000 to 2500ft.
Im sure IDP will be along with some details or a rather warm trip up north in a few days time.
As for me, my legs are knackered and so is my back. Time for a physio and to get the bike out!
Thursday waited until 4 o'clock to go for a run, only did 7k with nothing to drink, shattered, did same run today at 5:30, 4 minutes faster and it felt easy
Super but slow and sweaty, morning round Saddle Worth Moor, Rimmon Pit and the reservoirs and then over Chew & Black Hill to Isle of Sky. 13 miles and 2300 ups and downs in 2:40. Saw a mixed doubles group toiling up the PW towards the top of Issues Clough. Was it you I was coming up Black Hill at Issues Clough?
13.68miles/1700ft mostly on part of the Osmotherley Phoenix route + a couple of navigation adventures. Was planning on keeping it a slowish run/walk and ended up taking just under 3 hours. Saw one other runner on the Cleveland Way close to Black Hambleton summit plus quite a few mountain bikers & walkers - was a pleasant breeze in parts but very strong sun!
Trotted over Buckden pike and Great Whernside this afternoon, back to car along the dales way. Stunning weather and views.
I bet they were gutted to cancel Cragfest at Kilnsley now, would have been the perfect weekend.
Fairfield Horseshoe on steroids today. Taking the normal route up from Rydal over Great Rigg onto Fairfield. Dropped down the other side over Cofa Pike and St Sunday crag. Path less trodden into bottom of Deepdale and back up on the Hartsop above Howe ridge back onto Hart Crag and then the usual descent back to Rydal. Tough run, very warm, strong wind first thing but cracking views all the way round.
can't say it was running aas it was too hot, but good BG/PB training
more details to follow but...
Just back from the Far North of Scotland with Shaunetto.
Absolutely scorching. legs and feet trashed
Any way stats show 68 miles 25,000ft! 17 munros, 8 blisters in 2.5 days.
Some pictures here.
One of the most stunning places I've been. The Fisherfields are quite rocky where as the Fannichs are very runnable, with cooler weather linking them together would be a superb day out as John did last year. Huge respect for putting this together, we set out at 4.30am with the option of doing both but the heat was incredible and I was unable to take on enough fluids. I underestimated the Fisherfields but would say to those who have not been there to go,it's a truely magical place
Stunning pics Ian:thumbup:
