Re: jack bloor fell race may 1
Not that I can remember, but given that it's not a defined course - just a series of checkpoints then depending on the weather you might want something. If you don't know the moor then a compass may be useful - just head north and you'll drop into Wharfedale!
Re: jack bloor fell race may 1
Well apart from taking a couple of tumbles (the second one was particularly stylish!!) and being my usual 'Swoopish*' self on the final descents from the top of the steps to the finish, and setting a personal worse of 57.26 (well I am 9 years slower than the last time I ran it:eek:) that was great fun!!
Thanks to the organisers & marshalls etc.
Did you make it MR or GD?
* Sorry Colin!!!

I was looking out for you but thought if you were there you were well in front of me all the way!!;)
Weather was glorious blue skies (seriously) but rather windy. Didn't hang around for results but I was first Fellandale (which says a lot!!!):)
Re: jack bloor fell race may 1
Brill. well run mt. And I'm glad it was sunny!
Re: jack bloor fell race may 1
Stunning evening up on Ilkley Moor. Graham Pearce won I think. Nice to see Big Compass, AJF, Bob and various other friends :)
I could get used to being injured. The beer tastes just as good and you don't get covered in mud ;)
Re: jack bloor fell race may 1
Yep a pearce won in 41 summat I think?
Good to see you too DT. Being injured is fun! Loads of beer and time to play around on bikes. Problem I have found is trying to run again afterwards. Foot in a bucket of ice at the moment. :(
Was nice to be on the fells again though. Only been on the fells this year 4 times and they have all been races.
Re: jack bloor fell race may 1
A lovely evening's run. Somehow managed to pass Brett and Antisocial without ever seeing them:rolleyes: Not my fastest time but nowhere near my slowest, still haven't got my race legs yet.
Thanks to the marshals and gate holders.
Re: jack bloor fell race may 1
My mistake was to follow an Ilkley Harrier - obviously a new member :D
A fabulous evening and great race!
