Yep 1.30 12th sept, on a new 7m AM course apparently. Bowland are organising it, but there doesn't seem to be anything on their website as yet.

Thinking of going in for this as it's the nearest race to my parents... kill two birds with one flyroc !!
PS. I'll be recovering from an injury so will probably be a little slow on pace. Is this a 'Jebb' type race or do all 'n' sundry enter (in other words will I embarass myself?)
Race on. New show field and hence new route! Show field is half way between Newton and Slaidburn. About 7 miles 1000ft. Pay full admission price on gate to show and claim partial refund when entering race. Fully marked course. Low key event but in my view that is what fell running should be! New course records can be claimed!
how does the new route compare with the one from last year? any chance of a quick summary?
More of a wet and muddy cross-counntry course from Slaidburn this year ( not that last year at Dunsop Bridge wasn't wet and muddy) with quite a few gates and stiles to negotiate. There is a fairly steep and rough loop of genuine fell terrain at the extremity of the out and back cross-country leg. As the show triangulates between the villages of Slaidburn, Newton & Dunsop Bridge; we have to make best use of the terrain offered by the venue that has been chosen by the HV Show committee. There's no doubting that the Dunsop Bridge venue ( as last year) offers the best FR course, with the proximity of Mellor Knoll and Tottridge Fell - a classic "Guides Race" course.
Just bumping this up for a bit of visibility, with only a week to go.
Just confirmed with landowners new route this year. Unfortunately a short bit of tarmac is included (purists can run on the verge!) Map of route should appear on our website

Just thought I would bump this thread up a bit;)
looks like a fast runable course:)
Looking forward to this. My first fell race, thought it would be a nice one to get started with.
Any last min tips?
Thankyou
