It was OK, but the portions were minimal to say the least. Another casualty of the demise of Scotts - that was also the reason for the strange arrangements for drinks at the mid-camp.

My mate complained to the organisers on the day of the event about the size of the portions at the SLMM, Oh and they had no tea by the time we got there:angry:.

Bear with them- at least for this year. The sudden demise of Scotts, the lack of Wilfs and no easy alternative has given the organisers problems. It seems harder than we think to find someone willing and able to feed lots of us in a narrow window of time in a field! The hotel were struggling and the queue and lack of tea was definately an issue. The organisers know about the portions and waiting etc and were not happy that it was less than ideal. I think the plan next year is for the ladies of Hill and Dale (i think that is whta they were called) to do the catering. Even for them it was a steep learning curve- but they were keen to learn. What they had on Fri night was great, both in taste and quantity, although I did ask that they include pasta.
Not worries bearing with them, as I have said I really enjoyed my run, and the food at the end was a minor thing, no real complaints.

Press Release on Sleepmonsters reckons that Team Thule are doing this years race. Interesting! Wonder if this is Sleepmonsters take on it, or wether the organisers are now clearing people in advance for entry. I thought that once the deadline had passed, everyone was then screened for suitable experience and a ballot took place.
Or is this a furthering of the new ethos that as long as you have enough cash you can buy your way into the race, as demonstrated by the guaranteed entry for anyone going on their PyB training weekend. What happens if you go on that weekend as a complete beginner and then fail to retain any of that knowledge over the next couple of months??
By the way, has anyone spotted the new 'MM' on the calendar? Dark Mountains! Looks good, could be chilly!!
or possibly the event is under-subscribed so there's no need for a ballot.
Entries still open though, so that would be a bit previous! I know what you mean, if they're well under the numbers now they're not likely to fill it at this stage but still......
Trying to decide which course to go for on the Dark Mountains, line might be easier nav, but at least score you know how long you're out for...
