The Preseli Beast!!

That was a cracking race young Carwyn! Lovely route, great weather and the support from the locals was just amazing.

Yes, a cracking weekend with Caz & Rachel, thank you for your hospitality. Race day was very bright & clear, although somewhat breezy for Mr. Cliff and myself, marshalling atop of Foel Feddau ( Caz reckons I've just about cracked the pronunciation - Voil Veythi ).
The meal and evening entertainment was very "lively". Cracking solo guitarist/vocalist. His rendition of Sospan Bach had everyone in a riotous mood; Maenclochog village hall was absolutely "buzzing"!
Sunday afternoon was damp & claggy for clearing the course markers between the Gwaen Valley & Newport, but good craic all the same.

Yes. Job done i think. Very happy with how the day turned out espeicially with all the comments I've had back so far.The following are just some that I've picked out

"It really was an amazing atmosphere, loved the horns calling you down the hillside, and tell them ladies to keep on baking them there cakes, cos we will be back for more :-P"

"I just wanted to say THANK YOU. What an event. I think this is going to become the highlight of my year!! Although I think your name and a few swear words were mixed together as I traversed the base of the Preselis on the way back!! Only for a bit though! You ran a brilliantly organised race! The Maenchlocog community were fantastic. They made the event very very special, from the marshalls who made me smile at every station, to the boys who high fived me in the last couple of miles, to the wonderful refreshments at the end and to those hooters all the way around! Their support was brilliant and so much appreciated."

"Just a quick note to say a heartfelt thanks for the race. It was my first race over 7 miles and I thoroughly enjoyed it (well perhaps not miles 19-22!). And some are already asking when next years date is for.......'Return of the Beast'. As if it wasn't hard enough for them! I might even add in my training hill for next year!! Could I be that cruel. :wink:

Yes, well done to Moley, and Rob(and everyone else who took part obviously!). Glad you had an enjoyable outing. Thanks too to the northern lot of Mr & Mrs Roberts, and Mr & Mrs Cliff, for travelling down to help out and for saving the day! I'd have lost the plot otherwise. :thumbup:

Well, it's been far too long since I updated this! :p

This years, 'Return of the Beast' is on May 24th, so it's not that far away now! Just updated some bits on the website including a list of all the trophies/prizes. Don't forget that you all get a T-shirt, slate coaster, goody bag, the famous 'cawl' with cheese and a roll, tea/coffee, and lots of luvly cake! What more do you want? Ok, there's also a selection of fantastic spot prizes, which means that anyone whether they finish last, has a chance of getting something nice. 'Teidy'. It's only a month to go before the 'Return of the Beast', but more importantly you've only got till May 14th to get your entry in to make sure you get the all important T-shirt, and slate coaster into your goody bag!
