I've just got back from supporting Geoff Cox on on his JNC. Weather was pretty ropey overnight, certainly on the Eastern fells. We got to Dunmail around 0900 on the Bob Graham Road Show was in full swing!
On the plus side, the thunderstorm over Kirkstone Pass was pretty spectacular!
What's happening with Pat Barry's tracker....if he set off at midnight his tracker has jumped ahead somehow as it's showing wasdale at 16:36 but it's only 10:31 now....am I missing something?

Pat Barry's tracker stopped just before Honister @ 22:24.. his ETA at Honister was 19:35.. one could speculate he pulled but as every I'm reluctant do so as sometimes the tracker gets left behind..
Well the 'interesting' forecast was correct! Storms through the night, total clag on all of leg 3 but a fantastic legs 4&5. Hope everyone else had a successful round 👍🏻
Pat stopped after completing leg 4, at ca 10:30. He was going great over the first part of leg 4, climbing really well, but then some knee pain started to take its toll on the steeper descents. On another day he'll cruise round for sure.
That's a shame to hear. It's been interesting hearing about his training and preparations-was really hoping he would get round. The weather sounded quite grim-can't have been easy on the early legs. I trust he will bounce back and attack again. Hope the knee gets better.Quote:

Bit crowded with three groups starting at the same time and staying pretty much together until Great Calva when everybody went different ways (us the fence line) to all pretty much came together at Blencathra. Once again we took Doddick while everybody else took Halls, very little in it. Leaving Blencathra the wind was starting to build up. It is actually 3 that I am most disappointed with, GeoffB took over nav and done an excellent job in very poor visibility. I think I was very tired after 2 and could not take advantage of the easier sections to keep to the schedule. 7:30 to Wasdale and 24 hrs was looking unlikely but I still wanted to finish. Lucy done a fanatic effort on 4 and she had me believing that it was still possible. We had a excellent, inside schedule, leg to Kirk Fell. I though something like a 24:30 was possible, but the pain killers for a knee injury since the Langdales were starting to have less effect and I lost so much time on the descent of Piller, Kirk Fell and Great Gable. I could have carried on from Honister but the though of the Robinson descent and the 10 Km on the road was too much.
While it was not a success, it was still an amazing experience.
Thank you does not even come close to what I have to say about my Pennine Club members for the work/hassling/encouragement they done through out that day.

I met a group of three late Saturday afternoon heading towards Haycock (mistaking it for Steeple). They were on a BG round apparently. Any ideas who they were, I got the impression they were not British. They looked to be going well, but annoyed by their mistake!
