Nah, it wasn't the cakes that did you mate - t'was the running too hard to keep in sight of someone who knew where they were going! :p Good result 10th though Watto. Next time though, don't scoff all the cakes :D
(p.s. Grifter couldn't be persauded to write the report for our Wharfedale web site so I've just sent one in to our web master Graham. Reckon it'll take him minutes to upload knowing how quick he is on these things!!!)
I echo everyone elses thoughts on the race - a great "proper" fell race! (Hardly any namby-pamby flagging!!!). Cheers Billy and rest of Helm Hillers.

Re: Howgill Howler - 23rd Sept
That was fun today! I had my map out from the first checkpoint and I would have been struggling without it. Some people came back saying that they had seen parts of the Howgills they've never been before. There is a good path from above the Knott that we found early on rather than dropping too far right like some. It's a tough course with a surprising amount of climbing. The visibility made it a great race. Well done everyone, and thanks to Billy for the organising. (And the cakes)

5 in total, but only 3 wearing club vest - disgraceful - I will have to have words I think!

What a fun day, good race and good crack.
Thanks to the organisers and the two brave marshalls up on a very cold and misty Arant Haw.
