Personally I have always liked to get my new shoes totally soaked in a stream( or bath) and continue wear them till they dry out or at least go some way to moulding to my feet.
Just a personal bit of advice:cool:

Funnily enough the salesperson in the shop said they stretch more when wet - thanks for the reminder - shall have to try it.
Was feeling quite good about my 'run' up Latrigg (which took me about 30 mins up and down from Keswick swimming pool) until I got home and checked ont t'internet - to find that the Latrigg race is further, takes a more direct (and therefore I can only assume steeper) route and that Kenny Stuart did it in about half my time (and he's only a wee skinny bloke ;)) Oh well, guess you've got to start somewhere :o

Plus, you can shave an all important 10 grams or so from you shoes!!
Worth a try.
don't Inov8 sell half-thickness beds that you can use to replace the ones that come in the shoes to provide more room?

there is the standard 6mm footbed and then the thinned version 3mm footbed which allows more room http://www.inov-8.com/Products.asp?PG=PG5&L=26
