Why have I just posted the entry, the memories of last year must have faded for a brief minute! The last bit down the track when you are shot is like the road bit after the Ben.

I see the weather prognosis is cold, cloudy but dry for the first part of tomorrow. At least that gives us mortals a fighting chance - having to contend with rain & hail (like last year) would be sapping for sure....
No doubt it was the hail showers last year that thwarted my efforts. Nice rainbows though. Anyone remember seeing those around the western part of the race? Quite pretty. ;)
Nah, last year, I couldn't see through my visions of a hot cuppa and cake, thats what kept me going up that last climb at the big end.
Weather sounds good this year then eh?
Hat & gloves though I think. :p
hat AND gloves.....whats up with ya!
speedo's for me!
High cut? ;) No vest? :p
definetly gloves!
that reminds me, I'd better do my checklist eh.
Just printing off ye map.... Glad it'll be clear - follow that crowd....
!!!
Now I know I gotta meet you tomorrow!
tee hee
well if its as cold as yesterday morning more likely to wearing my sleeping bad with feet cut outs.
1. To keep me warm
2. So I don't get hurt bouncing down geronimo
Ah, yes, remember that one. It was just a muddy mess. Came down it on my a**e along with countless others....!
Tell you what i found a nightmare, the wee descent to cp7 with the poor marshall sat at the bottom in a gale.
I will feel much better when I pass that checkpoint 4. Not sure why because it just gets harder??
its that cheery feeling of oh I've done the half tour route, but I'm now going to head away from the pub and go up some really steep hills feck
Last time I did it the marshals at the Scout cairn where drinking cans of beer.
Quality:)
Not going to be able to do this again due to my calf injury, had to pull out last year due to similar problem:( . Hope you all enjoy it.
I should be there tomorrow. In vest and shorts.
None of this namby pamby hat & gloves stuff.
Then hopefully find a pub to see the Scotland vs Italy game.
I'll be there too.
Can't do the descents, far too steep & scary for me. Not much good on the ups either, they're just too hard. Quite looking forward to it though
is there any water at the check points or do you carry your own ?

Nourh - which checkpoint no is this then ? and have I been assigned to the wrong ones ;)
See you guys in the morning.
Ok - so I'm starting to pap myself now!! I only realised earlier that this is actually TOMORROW!!!
*and I've not baked a cake:o *
thanks muddlugger i'll take my own.
Well, I was shown this spring - complete with mug! - once by a pal...and although I'm not sure I could find it again think that if you come across it Muddylug then you'll be taking a bit of a divert
Mind...if you're carrying water round with you....we must meet up at the start and I'll see if I can stay with you...you know...just to help take some of the weight...every mile or so...;)
Yeah...bit close now innit
there'll be none left by the time I get there:o
My uncle (a longtime fell runner but giving it a miss) is walking to checkpoint 4 with another bottle for me, so I have one for the first half and one for the second, I need plenty to fight off the cramps, baad karma.
If anyone wants my uncle to carry a second bottle for them to ckpoint 4, I'm sure he'll be glad to help out.
Thanks Muddylugger, I'm hoping my bit-ill-so-not-running pal will be doing the same!
Mind, I think he's also supporting another pal of ours who's won the race before  so there's more than a very high probability he may have packed up and gone home by the time I get to the checkpoints :o - or more likely moved up to a subsequent checkpoint :(
Looking at your estimated (hoped-for!) time 3:45'ish I think we probably will be quite close! I hope you've shaken off that flu-stuff you reported earlier.
I'm just finishing off a wee dram then off to sort out kit (...hmmm...just hope I can find everything!)...then an early night methinks.
Gonna be fun tomorrow eh gang! :D Good luck everyone...see you on the start line!
