Have you considered the Adidas adizero XT3..

No I hadn't - are they a fairly low profile kind of shoe, or just a road shoe with an off-road outsole kind of thing? They do look fairly grippy, I'll give 'em that!
They look pretty handy, might have a look for them next time I'm shopping
Having had a bit of a read of them, I might keep an eye out for them too. I think the 'zero' refers to a fairly minimal, low profile kind of effort. Could be good...
I've had the earlier version of those for a couple of years and they are one of the best all-rounders I've had. Be careful of sizing, I'd probably have bought a half size up if I was buying them now.
So normally I'm a 10, but with the adizero I'd be wanting 10.5 I take it? I'll probably try and get a pair in Sportsshoes or somewhere, where I can try them on. They look like they might be just the job.
Size 10 Talon 212`s and size 10.5 XT3`s are a very similar fit...
I emailed Walsh and had a reply saying that, yes the Spirit Lites have been discontinued. No reason given though. The guy also said that the Spirit peak is more or less the same shoe and only around 9g heavier.
I thought the Spirit Peak was heavier than that though :s
Spirit Peak still available then? I thought all the trail shoes had been discontinued.
So they say... I asked...
I currently run in the Walsh Spirit Lite and would love to get
some more as mine are now wearing out.
I'd been told these are being discontinued however and seem to be
impossible to find now. Is this the case that they are a discontinued
shoe now?
And I received..
Hi Simon
Yes the Spirit lite has been discontinued, but the Spirit Peak shoe is
more or less the same with the addition of a dual midsole it is a little
harder on the inside.
I got some of them thar adizero XT3's yesterday, £44 from Sportsshoes in Bradford. Took them for a short spin today, not far due to being in pain but my first impressions are good. I went through a fair bit of boggy mud and didn't notice much slipping, did ok on wet rock (albeit millstone grit) and slabs, nice and comfy and fairly low profile too.
My only reservation is that they are very, very, orange!:o
I'm hoping enough mud and bog will tone down the colour...
...Up Pen-y-Ghent in the adizeros today. Very good on the rocky ascent, even the limestone bits went better than usual. Also the big slabs on the approach, no slipping at all. My thigh still hurting a bit so that may have contributed to not quite letting go on the descent but on the whole, whilst not being an all-out fell shoe they are certainly a good bet for long distance stuff like the three peaks and so on. I'll be taking them on the Osmotherley Phoenix if I get my entry in on time, and if I was doing the Fellsman this year I'd be wearing them for that.
Just checked the Walsh Website and all 3 Spirit shoes are listed and priced at £24! Seems like they've decided to take More Mile head on.
if you've got micro feet!
or happen to be a lady.
