I don't know the name of the teams but two Penistone guys(Jonh R and Mark P) did the Cutgate to William Clough leg then dropped in to Hayfield and met up for a lift home after the trial
I guess I was talking to IanRowbottom
Not sure about the good looking I guess it depends which side your bread is buttered:D But he's certainly faster than me:D
I'm out. Arm is still broken after 13 days, the doc seemed suprised whenI asked has it healed? :-)
Bad news may have cast for 8 weeks, but its now a half cast. Anyway decided not too do the HPM, if its frozen I'll be in trouble, and will struggle climbing in and out of peat hags.
Cheers, maybe, are runners allowed support?
Did you get Sarah's email?
She put the pics on the blog site:
http://sarzmountainrun.blogspot.com/...recce-no2.html
Ahh sorry about that she emailed it through a few days after. She was wondering why you hadn't replied, that explains it! :-)
Anyway, my next aim is to be ok for edale skyline.
What's the position on car support for this?
I'm not running now so was considering driving around and waiting at the road crossings with food and water?
Is this allowed?
I know there's only a few road crossings anyway, but I'll be in the area so thought I may as well go along?
Cheers
Iain
I've just had a look at the rules they sent out - rule 4 states no supporters or pacers.
My wife was asking if she could meet up with me on route - I'll have to ask her not too - I don't want to get the team disqualifyed after 30 miles!
I have been at Moscar and Snake summit on 2 occassions when not competing.
"Major" food / drink stations at both road points so was there to "encourage" verbally all teams, shouted specifics at the several teams I Knew personnally but was equally encouraging to all.
Other times, when actually competing, have been "encouraged" at the downfall by friends and strangers alike.
I would guess a lot of teams have contact somewhere on the route with aquaintances.
If I am not called on to slot into a last minute injury place  , I will be at Moscar and Snake again this year. (Sad b*****d, can't keep away:confused: )
Reccied the route over two days last week. Its alot dryer than last year. Still managed to cock up on Bleaklow in daylight and clear conditions.
It has gone very quite on here. Is it nerves or is everyone out reccying?
Our team did part of the hard section last Saturday from Margery Hill to Bleaklow Head – with a strong head wind most of the way. It seemed much drier than last year – could make for some quick times…
That was dry!!!!????
My wifes out now as well, with a bout patella tendonitus. Never entering this race again as all it has done is cause injuries! :-)
Nerves.
I backed out as soon as I was accepted and I'm running really well!
Famous last words.
I keep thinking that I should step in for someone else.
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!
All this talk of reccying is getting me worried. We've just got an entry as a result of another team dropping out, but it looks is if only one of our team can get out for any reccies before Friday week. Never mind, it will make it more interesting. Whooppee, can't wait!
sat nav
i dont even use a map to get around our little island
A55 and turn left or right
just ask where dolarrog is:) , err i mean cravant
oooh id better get organised ive got AJ with me
Well..... Watershed Weather has set in?....?
AND
Blimey..... it's a bit (VERY) blimmin rough up & out there tonight :D ....
Even I might like something a bit kinder next Friday Nite & Saturday Morn!!!
(never mind Earthquakes the Shacks' really rattlin & shakin now  )
What about the weather today Luv-Shack? Sun and a light dust of snow- perfect! Its look beautiful up there from here, what about from your side? I was a bit concerned myself this weekend, not worried about you lot but the checkpointers-they might go on strike! I've been through the forum- thanks to Luv-Shack and others for answering queries. Re support the spirit of the event is to be a self supporting 'expedition' out in the wilds etc- we're not going to disqualify anyone over it but don't give out food parcels, clothes etc And if we start to get chaotic queues of cars at each road crossing we'll be upset- ok? See you all Friday
Rich,
It's looking fab this side of the Watershed today..... Kinder is in top condition, Downfall running crystal clear, with its icy plume riding high in the sky...
(Sadly can't see it lasting until Sat pm...... but, you never know!)
See you Friday
Yes, I can confirm that the whole of Kinder was in tip-top condition today, having just spent 8 hours going around, up & down most of it (Kinder Killer it's called, and now I know why!!)
That was my final training run for Friday/Saturday - just need lots of rest & plenty of food between now & then.
See you all on Friday.
is any team short of female - never done it but know all about it - not a very fast runner but have stamina - done fellmans and 4 inns
Alison, I have sent you a message r.e. the HPM.
Thanks,
Alastair
We are struggling to fill one of our spaces after someone has dropped out. We are waiting to hear back from one last sub and I'm starting to feel a tad twitchy.
Are there any superheroes who could step in if our last hope falls through?
