About 7 or 8 years ago i saw something just up sticks and leave, i think it was my life!
I saw someone driving a gritter earlier this evening in Ilkley. Anyone on here? :closed:
I can't believe it's not me either. Mind you I only get seen when I've just fallen studs over shoulders or I'm wheezing like an asthmatic camel... WHY DOES NO ONE SEE YOU WHEN YOU'RE SPEEDING UP THE HILL LIKE IT'S NOT EVEN THERE?
By the way, as a newbie to this fellrunning lark and in the spirit of the 'ribbon' code mentioned above, can someone tell me what the secret handshake is? I am expecting something which requires stamina...
Have you read Stephen King's Dark Tower Books?

At the Giants Tooth race, Plodding Bear, who I'd been having dialogue with on here, pulled up next to me in the car park. Within about 30 seconds he'd deduced who I was and introduced himself. No ribbons or funny handshake though....it was almost subliminal.
Spooky! So far I've only been recognized from 2 miles away by a work colleague. He deduced that I was the only one stupid enough to be up there...
I asked two likely looking fellas at rombalds with collies if the were Stolly. They weren't. found out when i got home that he didn't make it. oh well , met two other people!
On the Charnwood Hills race, a lady said 'oh is it Josh?' I said yes and she said 'do you want some water?'
Was the kind lady you? I didn't recognise her, although I was a bit tired so it might've been a relation for all I know. Thanks anyway:)
Group of runners near the summit of Blencathra yesterday, surely one of them must be on here?! Also I think I saw the same group up on Souther Fell when I was coming down The Tongue off Bannerdale Crags.
I've got another one actually, group of guys out on Scoat Fell on Friday? I was out walking at the time.
this thread has made me realise how few of those folks out running are actually forumites - they must have better things to do
Two senior gentlemen coming off of Great Whernside into Kettlewell last wednesday. They were debating whether to have cake at the cafe:D Was it you?
This morning running up the footpath between Cedar Grove and Maple Drive, in to the fields, on to the Brigsteer road, across the old race course and up on to Scout Scar? When you turned right at the second gate I carried on straight to the Levens end of the scar, then back to the viewpoint and back down to Brigsteer road and saw you again descending. Well, was it you?
Was that you at fox house on your way for a steady 6 mile this afternoon .
Tried his microspikes on, fantastic grip, impossible to slip but like running with ankle weights on! Think I will continue to slip !!!!! Glad you had a good run.;)
Passed several runners on the Howgills this morning, on the 'motorway' between Arant Haw and the Calf. Were any of them you?
Ok remind me who the lovely guy was that came up to me & said hello at the top of Losehill today? I had some right stick after from some of the Smiley ladies :p hehe
Haha....good one
Could this be the first "WasIt You?" wedding? I might buy a hat.
I see quite a few runners around Ilkley Moor area, none of them seem to be reading this thread though. I'm the chubber with the collie - that's me!
Pardon me for speaking for Stolly, but I think sightings of him are more likely around the Settle area than Ilkley Moor region. I'm the only chubber on the moor.
Apparently he gets about a bit. I was only kidding anyway
This afternoon on the path between Bycliffe Road and Bare House you were running with your 2 spaniel dogs
Last night, a shadowy figure with a head torch running across a bridge over the M1 just north of Chesterfield.
i was well jeal! after spending the preceeding 9 hours driving a white van, man!
