I'd like to hope that following govt announcements next week, we might have an idea when races (of any kind) will return, and might see the calendar to take shape a little more.

To put it simply - I think we can write-off 2021 for fell races.
I personally think we'll get at least some races in... it seems we'll be in a better situation this summer than last... and there were races going on last year...
Whether we'll get proper mass starts i'm more sceptical, but i can't see any reason for some races not being ran along same lines as they were last year.
Possibly setting myself up for disappointment, of course, but if gyms etc are going to be reopening, then i see no reason why we won't have some form of racing (assuming the recovery in the country continues).
I could see races being held towards the end of August, but really can't see anything sooner being a goer. I still have a Saunders MM entry from last year but can't see it happening. Hopefully the LDMT will be run (it's not a mass start) but I could see it's "older" organisers and marshals being somewhat reserved in organising it.
So for me it's get over a child inflicted injury and build mileage for BGR in 2022.
Woooo best news for a while! Thanks Hank! It’s a truly wonderful event!
I think that following the relatively optimistic news coming out of the government, its now time for EA/UKA to earn their crust and provide some meaningful guidance in relation to the rest of 2021 from a racing point of view...
Old County Tops cancelled until next year.
In addition to the Snowdon race being off (mentioned on the previous page), i've just had a response confirming that the uphill-only race which was scheduled for a friday night in June is also off...
A shame, as it makes a fantastic double, with the Holyhead Mountain race on the saturday.

Will require some interpretation, and i believe the FRA will make a statement soon.... but it's positive news (if things go as hoped)
Well that seems like positive news. I didn't think I'd miss racing that much but absence makes the heart and all that....
Northern Traverse (Coast to Coast) was set to be in April but that's been binned off for the second year. Makes sense - feel a bit early given the changes that are potentially coming. Real shame as i'm really keen to do it but totally understand.
Live and direct from the FRA website...
24th February 2021
Races are permitted from 29th March with suitable Covid-safe social distancing measures in place. Members are advised to minimise travel although there will be no restrictions on County borders. Domestic overnight stays are permitted after 12th April. Spectating in groups of no more than 6 is possible after 12th April
Better and more detailed guidelines than we are getting for track and road.
Inter Counties Fell at Moel Eilio postponed from May 8th.
Possibly going ahead later in the year, September a possibility (already a very crowded month!)
I suspect in light of recent announcements, the postponement is due to the ongoing doubt around the easing of Welsh restrictions.
A revised list of English Champs fixtures and dates is now on FRA website.
The 50th Welsh 1000metres moved to July 17th, with a backup date of September 11th.
I've been reliably informed that Parkruns are returning from 5th June...
I've seen this, but surely its provisional on cases continuing to fall - as is the whole of the roadmap to get us out of lockdown. We need people to keep being sensible!

I'm sure you're correct... everything is dependent on the "roadmap" schedule.
I'm merely posting up the info as it appears.

11TH APRIL 2021 KONG MINI MOUNTAIN MARATHON MOVED TO 6TH JUNE 2021
Ras Y Moelwyn 24th April cancelled, back in 2022
Llangollen Fell Race (17 miles, 3000ft), moved to 22nd August.
Richard Eastman from Cumberland Fell Runners is unable to lead the organisation of the Wasdale and Scafell Pike fell races in 2021 and would be delighted to hear from anyone who feels they could take on the RO responsibilities for one or both of these classic races this year. Richard would be available to help out with administrative support and advice. If you feel you could work with Richard to enable these races to go ahead, please contact him on [email protected]
Copied this straight off the FRA website, hope nobody minds, but thought it merited being shared on this forum somewhere.
A couple of Lake District races confirmed...
Wednesday 21st July - Fellside
Saturday 24th July - Old Crown Round
July shaping up to be a busy month in the Northern Fells, with the two above, and the Blencathra champs race. And who knows perhaps Skiddaw too...
Fingers crossed....
Lakeland 50 cancelled final details still being worked out but it seems that it may become a virtual event, and if you provide proof of completion then it could be acceptable as a qualifier for next years LDWA TRANS-PENNINE 100, if that is the case then all is not lost but as I say details are still being worked out.
John - do you mean the actual Lakeland 50, or the Spring in to Lakeland 50? I'm told the latter is cancelled (I had an entry but withdrew when they wanted to cut the numbers down as I had only entered two of the three legs). I'm waiting to hear if April in Ambleside the week before is still going ahead. Fingers crossed, it's a smaller field and probably needs less in the way of support on the way round.
Edit:- I've just had a look on the website for Spring in to Lakeland which now says April in Ambleside is also cancelled.
Further edit:- The paragraph I saw in the LDWA site saying Ambleside was cancelled has now disappeared. The April in Ambleside site itself says that it might still go ahead. Watch this space I suppose.
Sorry Mark yes Imean the LDWA 3 rings of Staveley 50 miler is cancelled I know nothg of the other commercial trail race 50 miler:rolleyes:
TBH I am not holding my breath over any events taking place this season but I will be having a Bimble around the longer ones particularly the LDWA 50 and hopefully getting a qualifier for the Trans-Penninne 100 in 2002
The excellent Lakes Mountain 42 has been cancelled until next year.
I.O.M. TT Cancelled :-(
This is the important one http://www.ldmta.org.uk/entry.html entries open in April. ;)
Coniston not going ahead this year.
