Where's my prize????
Looks like I won in the Male V35 category!Check out position 457 finish time 46:42.
Position 1 out 1, I like those odds.
This could be the start of a wining streak? 1st in the Fancy Dress at Whnberry Naze , then I win a non-existant age group. Roll on 2009.
PS - Great race yesterday. Good organisation by a great club:)
Shouldn't you change your avatar?

OK then.
Just don't let the secret out!
The results provider has asked people to let him know of any anomalies in the results. I have sent him ome or two and the results have been amended accordingly.
If you let him know your time and your number, I'm sure he will do his best.
I have a few pictures if anyone wants to PM me their name or race number.
HI Everyone,
The pics were done by Steve Bateson on runningpix and anyone who knows him will know it is usually 3 - 4 days.
I think as it's Xmas we can give him a bit of slack.
The results - yes there was a problem with one of the recorders in the funnel.
A health related issue by the sounds of it. No major issues, but it has affected the results in the second half of the field in particular.
I don't know who - but as you can imagine, the bulk of the field come through at 38 - 48 mins and you can be faced with a runner per second - and that's on average.
So John Schofield has been sorting it out and the team results will be on once he is satisfied that all are accounted for.
If you are still missing, or know of anyone still missing - PM me the name, club and time.
I'm not part of the race committee - but this is as much info as I know.

Just some pics from last year to whet your appetite.
27th December
Fast PB course which will be totally traffic free again this year.
http://www.ukresults.net/09dec.html#ribble
Full details are here on the link including online entry.
The race used to get full with the 1000 permit but as we are now traffic free, we have up to 1500 allowed, but early indications are that we could have a record turnout, so best to pre-enter.
Extensive prize list - T-Shirt to all - come and have a great day.

You can check out our Facebook guest list - with a few forumites om there I think!
i might give this race a crack is it some championship race or something ?
Coming from the Ribble Valley I've done this before. Nice little course! Won't run on roads anymore though.
Will be down as a spectator though! :)
Northern 10K Road Championships - http://www.noeaa-athletics.org.uk/Pa...&articleid=327
No entries on the day are eligible for the Northern Champs - and that will apply to team as well as individual.
You must pre-enter by 18th December to be eligible for the Northern.
Age rules also apply for the NoE Champs - see their website for details.
And where will 1500 people park their cars?
This sounds much more my bread and butter
Did this race last year hoping for a marked improvement on my time this year possibly a PB?
I think my time was 39mins on this course.
Bloody £12 !!
Deffo a no from me, but I'll be down to watch!
We kept the price down for years - but last year we had to go traffic free as instructed by RV Council.
The costs for the traffic management are quite extensive as any race organisers will tell you.
I can see many road races being forced to pack in as a result of this cost being unsustainable and we already seem to have lost one or two. Waddington 10K, Chorley 4 miles - which have been forced in to the Park for a trail race.
The permits now also insist on water being available, extra toilets etc.....
So they will not be getting cheaper.
Even the fells are coming under some pressure - the cost of closing off the road at Rivington Pike for example.
Just for further info - at least the money goes back in to the sport.
The club has an athlete development fund which has paid out upwards of £6000 to junior and senior athletes in the last couple of years and this will continue, thanks to the funds we raise mainly from hosting the RV10K.
This has gone to assist Fell Runners as well as other athletes.
Must be a hell of a fee!! I mean if you get 1500 runners this year, at the lower price of £10 a head for arguments sake, thats £15,000 !
Ofcourse there are costs for water and toilets and traffic management, I would like to see the breakdown, to understand the true cost.
But if you get 1500 runners then fair play, people must be willing to pay it! :)
I don't have the breakdown as I'm not on the organising committee. But we do not get 1500 runners, we are allowed 1500 - if we get that fantastic and it goes back in to athletics.
It is one of the best prize funds in the area - with a free T shirt to all.
If we get only 750 runners our costs are still the same - still the same road closures, prize fund, T Shirts available, water, toilets, start/finish officials, results service, hire of Leisure Centre .....
and as I said, whatever is made goes back to the athletes.

Try this is one:eek:
this is a nice race though was outsprinted by Ron Hill last year who got his revenge on me after i narrowly beat him at Ravenstondale a few weeks earlier. its well worth running especially on closed roads. cant ask for much more!!

Just a reminder that for those interested in the NoE 10K Champs part of the RV10K, that there is a closing date of 21/12.
You can enter online or post from the link above.
There should be some entries on the day, but if you plan to run, you are best to pre-enter.
A list of entries will be posted on John Schofield's site shortly, and I understand we have quite hot Men's and Women's races in prosepect with Helen Clitheroe confirmed to headline the ladies race again.
Just entered online for this one hoping for an improvement on last year?
Just for Man from del Monte
http://www.ukresults.net/2009/ribble.html
Full entry list is on - looks like it will be a very tasty race at the front end, and nearly 900 pre-entries so far.
NB. North of England Athletes - the entry deadline to take part in the NoE 10K Road Champs is almost upon us.
Several sub 30 guys and a few sub 34 ladies as well it seems.
I've just had a run around the course with a small bunch of athletes and the route is clear - please see below race advise forthose on this forum who are entered or considering going.
It looks like all will be well on the day.
Ribble Valley and Northern Championships
10k Road Race Update
There has been quite a bit of snow in the area where the race is taking place this week.
However, the weather forecast for the area is for rain on Saturday and Sunday. The Race will
go ahead unless anything untoward happens with the weather.
We would ask that all competitors consider the following:
1) To ensure that you allow enough time for travel to get to the race, be parked up and have collected your number by 10:30am at the latest.
2) There are four car parking areas - Leisure Centre Car Park; Edisford School;
Caravan Park and Edisford Road itself. It may well be that the School and
Caravan Park are not available because of an accumulation of snow. In the
event that they are not usable, Marshals will be on hand on Edisford Road to
direct all road side parking. We ask, that you accept all instructions by
marshals who will be in place on Edisford Road.
3) If you arrive early and park in Clitheroe itself, make sure that you allow time
to get to the race start which would be approximately a mile away from the
Town.
4) Where possible, car share and bring other runners with you which will help
with car parking.
5) Listen to the following radio stations for information about weather and
travel:
· Radio Lancashire
· 107 The BEE
· Real Radio (NW)
· Rock FM
· Real Radio (Yorkshire)
6) Please check the following websites on a daily basis for any
additional updates regarding weather, travel and car parking
