Big 40? I'll look forward to the invite then?
The turf at Heaton Park was unusually spongey today. Its going to be a shoe sucking, leg sapping, back splattering, chest wrenching, thigh achingathon on Saturday.
Does all that mean it will be tough?!?
as Mr Burns would say: 'Exxxceeellleennttt'
Oh yes Widdy. Every step.
Let the battle for 12th counter commence.
plz don't hurt danbert he is very fragile these days
Is Moranous still injured BJ? If he is i've got you and Widdy battling for 11th place and myself and Chairman Cobra tussling for 12th.
I hope there isn't a frost to harden the ground on Friday night, i want it like a boggy, swampy, marshy, murky mud heap. Hopefully the weather will be gloomy, dull and dim as well. :D
Moranus said on Tuesday that he will be there, so there will probably be only 1 counter going spare. My money is on you for 12th counter due to mud slowing Widdy's phenominal road pace down. Then Widdy, just pipping me, followed by Phil and then Mr Cobra if he goes. Wild card is Mr Shaw who finished behind Widdy at Boggart.
I have just got back from Boggart (not far from Heaton) and the ground is currently frozen there. However the forecast for Sat is 7C so it will be soft at Heaton Park.
Its going to be a bit tight in that room Sparth. I bags the bath.
hi chaddy we are not sending any athleates this year but watch out for us next year,we are a up and coming club.not many great runners but good drinkers.we are called the greendale striders, what club do you run for i heard a rumour it was oldham and royton is that correct.:D
Why are the Northerns and Nationals both being run at Heaton Park?
Dya rekon the course will be the same?
I'm a Southern Softie travelling up in March.
I'll read with delight the results of your efforts after this weekend.
The course looks quite good. The start, A to G, and finish, O to Q, should be pretty dry
but the H to O section sounds as though it might be very wet!:)
What time for ladies race tomorrow please....
(Thinks: do I really want to put myself through this? Wouldn't I prefer a few large G and Ts tonight instead....hmmmmmmmm?)
thanks er swoop...er eeekkkkkk its 8km! Thanks to my clubmates for telling me it was 5km.....
NO O O O O OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Are you running vince?

Say hello to the radcliffe crew!
"Run hard, be strong, think big!"
Good luck to everyone today
Strength and Honour Rochdale :D
What is the weather like around Heaton Park. Over in Leeds it is bright sunshine and quite warm (but there again it always is). No fast running for months, quite apprehensive really but still looking forward to it in a masochistic sort of way.
Well I have to say that I really didnt enjoy....any....of that. Good to do it though. There are worse ways of spending a Saturday I guess...(?)
Muddy or what!!! It was, however, depressing to have streams of runners tear arsing past me for the first lap. :( Just couldn't keep focussed and felt a bit miserable all the way round... Think I need to weigh 7 stone for this game. :p Amazing women at the front....
Really sorry I could nt stay to watch men.... had my kids with me.
How did you all fare....update please!
Survived the mud. Not enough hills for me!
Had a good view of the finish as all the leaders were lapping me at the time!
1. Andi Jones
2. Gaz Raven
3. Matt Barnes
7. Dave Norman
Danbert had a good run, I was going to follow him round but he ran away from me on the first lap.
Double or quits at The Summit tomorrow Danbert?
Quite enjoyed that, apart from the sticky muddy patches. Well down the field but no idea what position I finished.
Saw Danbert, Swoop and Roadrunner (well done). Saw Fetlock (or is she Mountain Goat now  ) who looked to have a good run in the ladies race.
I think my fitness is slowly improving but something tells me it's going to be a long slow 12 miles at White Holme tomorrow.
Top tip: tie your shoes on VERY tight in those conditions. Saw several people grovelling around in the mud trying to replace their shoes.
