The Ben Nevis Race

what a race,my favourite so far,that ascent just goes on and on ,had a good descent,alot of people had their handbags out,passed about 15 people on the way down,see you there next year for a sub 1:50 ;)

thought leaving at half 8 on the sunday moring would get me home by 4 at the latest,little did i know that i wouldn't get home until 1 in the morning after my clutch went about 50 miles from glasgow ,4 aa trucks,several coffee's and pasties and 16 hours after leaving fort william i made it home in the early hours :p

and i think i now hold the record for the quickest trashing of a fell shoe,second run in my new 330's at then ben and my sole came off in the finishing field :eek:,got my money back now though

a rather eventfull weekend :D

A good race Fleeter. Well done. I can't wait to get back there next year (as long as I can get a place).

Sorry to hear about the car. What were you doing with the clutch, that journey shouldn't be heavy on the clutch:eek:.

We left at 8:25, and after a detour to avoid the queues on the M60, arrived back in Derbyshire at 3:25 on the same tankful of diesel that we left home with. 770 miles so far and still haven't filled up.

it was going on the way up,was thinking it would last back to sadleworth but it didn't :D

1 member picking up his 21 race award and 2 members doing their 20th races
a PB by me
no serious injuries
and last men standing in Fort William on Saturday night

I'm afraid we missed out on the best drunken dancer award though - this year that went to Goldie from Warfedale (not sure the bouncer agreed) - nice one matey :p
