I've submitted it to Tory, there's a chance it may make it in.

great Report Mr B
It was one of my favorite races, I used to do quite well by picking out a quicker route on most races, LK is king and I often wondered about that line but I would have reccied it first.:)
Anyone going? I'll be there.
I went, i saw, i ran. Better time than last, but that was a lock, however better first split to CP1. The headwind in the gill cost me dearly, it wasnt that wet and could have been a better leg without the driving northerly. I pushed hard up to the nick and improvised a couple of obvious lines past the crowds that were forming on the crag scramble. My legs were utterly shot at the top, but i found good speed all the way to the finish and picked out a couple of short cuts over the rough stuff that are faster if youre confident enough.
Good to hear it won't be featuring in the mag again :D
Nice one.
Crikey! 435 pre-entered for this Saturdays race and currently there appears to be a decent weather window.
It'll be my first running of the race, and in fact my first visit to High Cup Nick. Having no LK I have been reading as much as I can about it including MrB's fantastic report of his 2022 adventure (again).
Needless to say I shall not be following his lines, at least intentionally!
The start seems flatish, but is actually quite undulating and draining. There is a short descent before the beck which you can take advantage of, and don't get in a queue for the beck or it'll take ages, look ahead and get in a clear bit. On the way back keep looking right for short cuts over the open fell; from memory they are quite obvious as you see the path swinging right in the distance. The shortcuts look too rough to be worth it, but i always find them to be time saving. The run in will be draining with all the wet weather in the forecast, i always underestimate how far it is on the way back and overcook it. Oh and High cup gill is nothing but a punishing bog trudge when it's wet, it will sap your energy quickly.
