5.16 miles up, down and round the Wessenden Valley. 800 ft of ups in 51 mins.
Very enjoyable 3 hours following IanDarkPeak up and down Seal Stones,Blackden Edge,Crookstone and Jaggers.
Thanks again for showing me those routes Ian.
I realised this week that, whilst I've run the three peaks a number of times now, I've never done it on my own so I had a trot round there today. Almost bonked going up Ingleborough due to not eating or drinking enough and sweating more than usual but recovered reasonably well and made it back in 5.07hrs. Not too bad. After the Fellsman and Stolly's and my yomp of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, I am trying not to lose my fitness but work is getting in the way of running somewhat! :)
9.4m/2062ft with dog, after consistent 50/60m weeks since April probably only do 30 this week, rest should do me good. Ramp it up again after this week, taper for week before Lakeland 100, then the real pain will begin..................oh sh!t! I need therapy:w00t:
5k in 19min 13s followed by shoulders and arms in the gym and a good stretch
35 mins of cross country up and down the hilly bits closest to home. Rest day tomorrow, BG Leg 2 nav on Friday
Friday 2 ½ hours on the hills back of my house with rucksack.
Saturday 31/2 hours with rucksack on the hills north west of Moffat with a few lads from the club, we did the Moffat Chase hill race course.
Last night lead a club run on the Moffat Gala race course 9.2 miles, yes with rucksack.

Tuesday 1/3 of a Kinder dozen approx 8 miles 3,000ft
Wednesday evening run with Shaunetto and mr1470, Ben Wyvis, 10 miles 3,000ft
Thursday, had a superb run doing the Ben Dearg 6 munros, 7 hours in clag and 3 in sunshine navigating solo through some really complicated terrain. 31 miles 10,800ft, didn't see a soul all day, a fantastic day out, I'll post some pictures later.
Fri turned out to be a bit of an epic, obviously a bit tired and not much sleep due to the midges set off to do Morrusig 6 in a bitter northerly, 7 miles in to a strong headwind 1000ft climbed and every piece of clothing on I was chilled to the bone so made the decision to bail. felt very rough on the way back. Again saw no one until a couple of miles from the car when I came apon a walker who said..."Hello Ian fancy meeting you here..." A runner from Goyt valley called Paul...
so Mon-Fri
66 miles 18,300ft
Northern Scotland. truely the big country....If I could only persuda the wife to move.....

Actually yesterdays, was too tired to type last night!
Did 25 miler on Blubberhouses 25 route with Alfie (my trusty Jack Russel). Ended up on wrong side of river and trying to wade across waist deep - not possible due to very strong current) so had to fight through thick woods/ferns etc to crossing point. Every field had knee high sodden grass that felt like wading through treacle, the moors were totally saturated and it felt like trying to run on a carpet of seaweed on the sea, multiple bog monsters and sinkings to knees.
Made the whole thing a few hours longer than expected and we were not a pretty sight shuffling back to the car at Norwood.
Not sure how to count Fridays leg 2 nav. Think I will put 2 hours down to friday and 2 1/2 down to Saturday. Today was a gentle 25 mins off road on the hills near where I live.
11 Miles and 1400 feet of ups around the PW and up West Nab and home in 1:51:30. Saw a gaggle of Saddleworth runners trogging down Wessenden Head Morr towards the Isle of Skye.
8 Miles and 1100 feet of ups around the Wessenden Valley and up West Nab in 1hr 20 mins. Nice trot out. More Curlew than many a year.
5k in 19mins 13s followed by chest, back and triceps in the gym.
9 mls. Not sure total assent as my watch is playing silly buggers and wont work it out! Edale, Mam Tor, Hollings Cross, Lose Hill, Hope and a leg sapping assent up Win Hill over and home :-). Stood in the river Derwent up to our waist for 10mins.
Running partner hamstrings painful so did a test on her to see if she fires her Glutes. Not a bit lol. She now has exercises to get them to help out her poor hamstrings.
Great run, beautiful clear day :-)
Set off at 8 last night on what was going to be a 70 odd mile jaunt with drop ins back at home for supplies. Weather, high winds, rain, paths like rivers. Dog created every time I called back home, took her out on what turned out to be my last lap, stomach cramps and a general feeling of rubbishness convinced me to call it a day. 12 and half hours, first time I've run through an entire night and 42m/9150ft covered, dissapointed but I live to fight another day.
Need the loo now!
Cheers Tup and Al, I shall keep battling one!
Ps. Al, I spelt disappointed wrong, too many s's got a bloody O level in English as well:rolleyes:
A very wet 11.5 miles around Almscliffe Crag area, time for a hot bath I reckon.
An hour on the turbo trainer in me garage, just watching the world go by: The woman across the road came outside for three fags, bloke next door had a pizza delivered and I told the woman delivering Avon catalogues not to bother.
Approx 10 miles around Ripley with Martyn P and Helen, good pace all the way and pretty tough climbs, pleased to report Martyn's injury held up well.
Had a busy week by my standards,
Last Saturday did the Duirsdeer Hilll race, a SHRchampionship race and managed a PB.
Tuesday while on holiday near Fort William did a 7 hour walk with MM pack up the Nevis Glen
Wednesday Climbed the Ben with the wife Slowly with MM pack, but she managed to jog most of the way back down.
Thursday Climbed The Ben on my own with MM pack and ran backdown.
Today did a 5 hour run on the Hills back home with my MM pack.
Can you tell that I am training for my first MM?

Well done Steve. Don't be dissapointed as running through the night is a strange thing to do and you certainly covered a good distance.
Puts my training into a little corner - 20 minute run outside followed by chest, back and legs in the gym.
Just nipping out for a 50 mile run to finish off.......
Drifted off to sleep and ran a virtual 50 miles in 6 hours 15. I wonder if I can follow that with another 100 tonight.
Seriously though it is a long time since I broke 30 miles in one which I had better do soon in prep for the Paddy. Need to find the glory days of running 25-40 miles relatively quickly and comfortably too.
A nice little 8.75 miles up From Langsett Barn to Margery Hill. Spewed my guts up at mile 3. Catarrrrrh! I can't get rid of it. Had a super fall at 6.5 miles. Both knees and left elbow banged up. 1900 feet of ups and downs in 1:36.47. Left a nice snack in the Margery Hill Geocache Box.
*-25 minutes cross trainer (hamstring too tight to run) followed by barbell shoulder press, barbell curls and tricep press.
I ran to top of Hartfell hill just north of Moffat, one of my normal training runs this morning. It usually takes me 1:15ish in training,I did it today with my MM pack and thought it would take me near 2 hours, I didit in 1:30, happy to do it that quickly but then not happy as I could have ran further before work in the time I had.

Looking forward to my trot from Baildon to Ilkley & then Burley after the dreaded dentist this afternoon !!
Despite the doomwatchers that tell me I'll slow down as I get older and the 'experts' that tell me that I'll lose speed now that I am doing more long distance runs and most of my running off-road, I did my fastest recorded road time trial last night. hurrah!
Never been fast, but since I've gone longer I've lost weight and got faster on short runs.
Well done Hes:thumbup:
The experts say you lose speed if your fast and go long, that's probably true, but if you never had any speed you've nowt to lose and everything to gain, my un-expert theory.
11 mile run home from work, cross-country using public footpaths; never done it before, plotted the route on OS getamap and uploaded to my garmin. Great idea I thought, except for the fact that some of the footpaths were severely neglected and overgrown and now I'm covered in grass whips and nettle stings. Good fun though and made a change from the usual bike commute.
25miles of hills on the bike, desperately trying to get bike fit for summer triathlons after a winter-spring of long run training for the Fellsman.
God my legs hurt!
