Quick 5 miles over Scout Scar before having a go with my newly arrived foam roller. This caused much amusement with the missus due to my cries of pain. Surely its not supposed to really hurt?

2 miles last night to try to loosen up my legs a bit. Thighs feel like they've been tenderised after the Three Shires!
First time using a head torch since the winter as well!
Went training with club last night, first interval session since BGR. Totally knackered, I think I've forgotten how to run fast!
4.5 miles and 80 ft around the streets last night after a spin on the bike. A nice cool starry night.
Nice 12.5 miler.. @ 6:30 pace after a 4 miler at lunch.. running consistent 90 mile weeks at the moment so happy enough.
30 mile trail run in 5hr 33m preparing for a couple of trail ultras booked in for winter/spring.
Nice cuppa tea going down a treat
14.9 miles 1732 ft along bits of the Wolds way trying to get some hill reps done ready for the three peaks CX
Yesterday was a glorious sunny run along clockwise leg 2 of the BG.
I haven't seen it this year due to night navigation in the mist so it was a pleasure to see the crease and folds of the hills.
Did the Dumfries half marathon in a PB today, happy days.

10.5 miles home along the PW from J22 of the M62. 850 ups in 1:49. Nice.
6.3 miles and 900 ft up and around Scout Scar in torrential rain and gales. Fantastic:thumbup:
The rain was pouring down when I woke this morning, & it hasn't stopped yet (it's now 4:35). I finished the last few pages of Boff Whalley's book, then decided to go off for a run with the dog. He's just turned 12 months, & the vet reckons his legs are now ready for long runs - until today he'd never done more than 10 miles. We ran a 20-mile circuit I've done a few times before: up the river to the A49, across fields to Acton Bridge & Norley, through Delamere Forest, along the Sandstone Trail north to Frodsham, then back up the river. Today it was so much more fun than ever before. Everything water & mud. The stream at the bottom of the garden was up to the limits of its banks (it's invaded the garden now), the Weaver much higher than I've seen it for ages. Fields flooded, every hoofprint full of water, roads flooded right across. I was up to my ankles countless times, & up to my knees once. Merlin didn't actually have to swim any of it, but it was close thing. And virtually nobody else was out - we saw 3 dogwalkers & that's it. The big car park in Delamere had just 2 cars in it - I've never seen it that empty before. We're close to being cut off by the floods now: picking my daughter up from school we had to take a different route from usual, & the road was flooded across in 4 or 5 places - I'd probably not have got through the worst one if my car wasn't a diesel. And the waters are still rising. Anyone got any cheap birds-eye maple to panel the sides of my bunk?
15.4 miles - up/down a gentle trail hill 17 times - 1624ft of up - had decided on 17 before I started - amazing how the will to continue collapses once a target has been reached.

This is footpath from Patterdale up to the start of the route to Angle tarn.
Bit wet.....
it still beats working on a Tuesday morning!
On the downside having driven through three deep floods in Kendal, Kirkstone pass and by Brother's water my car started to mis-fire and had to be rescued by the AA
Still, it happened after I'd been running :w00t:
club run tonight visiting some new wee hills
Jolly good fun and a decent pace
Easy 5 mile at lunch on trails in the forest.
evening, left the lab at 8pm, shattered, jogged to Umaine stadium track and strangely nailed a track session.. 1.5 mile warm up, 4 x 200m springs with 200m jog recovery.. then 3 x 1k reps with 400 jog recovery, sub 5 minute miling.. then 2 x 400m reps 4:50 min miling, with 400m jog recovery, 1.5 mile cool down.. felt surprisingly good after 17.5 miles yesterday.. settling in to 90+ mile weeks now and feeling better on it..
Last night 13.4 miles 1638 ft along the Wolds way, legs feeling a bit tired after Sundays CX, nothing now other than a gentle spin on the bike before Sundays 3 peaks CX
Club run up Wansfell and Wansfell Pike from Troutbeck tonight. Beautiful night up there. 6.3 miles 1414 ft of climb.
5 miles around the Wessenden Valley. Head Torch next week!
About 10.4 miles and 2090ft of climb up this big hill to the east of our villa in Lanzarote (Playa Blanca). Looks a bit like Blencathra on a good day and much easier than it looked if I'm honest, appeared very dodgy from sea level. Don't know what it's called. The missus has christened it "Brenda". I'm going up "Doris" tomorrow.
Martyn Saunders and his double entendres :w00t:
[QUOTE I'm going up "Doris" tomorrow.[/QUOTE]
Yes, I've heard about those ex pat communities!
Another faster than expected club run this evening..............
Hmm, I'm probably just getting slower
Not today's training, last nights. 10km with 4 x 2 minutes at race pace and 5 hill sprints
Just over 15 miles and 2000 feet of ups around the long Grin N Bear it route. Got bitten by the bog monster.
10 miles and a fair bit of climb in burbage/grindleford area. Walking, leading a duke of Edinburgh group, but carrying 30pounds+ off toddler and all the assorted "essentials" so think it's definitely training!
8 a.m, 9.25 miler from Ilkley along the Millenium Way. Managed to find another new path through High Plantation, which is always pleasing. Windy, rainy, foggy, boggy, brilliant.
Set off early from Barbon village and once we got to Barbondale contoured across claggy featureless fellside to find an unamed trig above Barbon Low fell. Descended same way before heading up a long slow climb to Crag hill. Took the direct descent over horrendous tussockly terrain to the road. Intention was to climb straight up to Calf top but left that for another day. About 12.5 miles and a slightly disappointing) 2500 ft of climb.
Really grim weather out on the fells, high winds, loads of rain and little visibility. Hats off to the 3 Peaks cx 'ers'..
Ran a half marathon. Only a very slight 450ft of elevation! but felt good! however legs are now sore!
18.5m steady road/trail run, meh
Club run tonight, good to be on the hill and not messing about with that trail running nonsense
8.7 miles trail running nonsense:) (But in my head I'm running up Bowfell!)
Lovely 9.25 miles over the lesser trodden paths of Ilkley Moor late yesterday afternoon. Taking in the delightful High Plantation. Finished off with a pint of Guinness in The Crescent. Enjoying all the bogs whilst I can.................................
Did a 4 mile lung buster (for me) 650ft climbing up to and around roseberry and then back down. at an average 10 min mile pace (not quick I know but I have lumber to shift). I did the first 2.4 miles at 10.30 minute miles then played a game on the descent where I needed to get below 10 mins miles average by the finish! I jusr failed this but it was fun and meant my last mile was the quickest! It made a fun alternative to my usual slow and long trail / fell runs where I just try and get distance in!
Also thouroughly enjoyed throwing myself down the side of Roseberry and the path vs Chute debate popped into my head! I chose the Chute!!!
Only time for a quick run today unfortunately.
6.3 miles and 900 ft over Scout Scar. Cracking day for it:thumbup:
First proper training run today rather than just jogging around some hills tentatively. Went up to Capplestone Gate from Conistone, 4.5m 1200', went up through the Dib and along the Turf Road. Climbed out of the Dib on the way back to visit the cairn on the promentary where the Iron Age settlement is, nice route.
planned on doin a nice long run today but due to me travelling later today I had to cut it short. I did 5 miles, pretty slow but then did a bit of hill sprinting, Im soaking wet so it can't have been all that useless a run :) total 800ft ascent!
moel siabod 5.8mile 2,267ft in preparation for the snowman triathlon this sunday! steep wet and rocky!
10k xc run and a 2hr 15m cross bike squirm
