Wessenden Head to Black Hill, Then a Crowden Horse Shoe taking in the Trigger route and back to butty wagon at Isle of Skye. Five runners out today, three deffo on a recce.
A recovery paced run out at Tinto, 4.4miles or there abouts.
fell guy what was it like on tops up there friday
5.2 miles around the Wessenden Valley with PCDan. Nice.
20km from Redmires over Stanage and Bamford edges to deliver a dog harness.... Plenty of climbing, lovely 2 hours out in the hills. Even spent about half an hour of it running shirtless. Head now nicely cleared after Ofsted last week, ready for next week now.
sounds like thermals are coming out then gloves and hat at the ready 2 mile in loads to carry but hey what better place to be
30 mins from Burbage north over the edges with Winnie. Cold, wet, boggy, couldn't see a thing!! Loved it :-)
I was in it, but never really in it.
Steady run out today 1hr 20m, lots of fun bashing through rough ground in atmospheric weather
Gentle mile and a half with the dog, stretching our legs out last night.
4 miles tonight - 3 of them quick, plenty of hill. First run out in new Puma Faas 300 road shoes, so far so good. They feel like a softer (padding and upper), smoother version of a fell shoe. Flat enough to help me maintain a comfy midfoot landing but not so minimal that it hurts to land on the heels a bit going down hill. Bit of a bargain too, at £30 a pair from sports soccer!
Four mies on the road tonight. First run in two weeks. Didn't expect to be in the same shape I had been in, but didn't expect to find it so hard either! Blimey.
1hr 15m brisk run out in Angus, minor altercation with an Alsatian put a bit of a downer on things
2nd 30min run of the week. From Burbage North over the tops. Lots of runners around that area early afternoon. Everything feels pretty good, no niggles :-)
Night time "springvale spirals" road race last night, 4.5 miles, 1000' climbing, 8 hills!
Was hoping for sub 40 min, so very happy with 36.44. Apologies to Darth of the Dark Side, as he pretty much towed me up hills 3-7, then I ran off down the hill....
Excellent hill session and surprisingly little stiffness from all the downhill pounding so far.
I think Rob.. 28:05 was the winning time IIRC, seemed a few sub 30..
I got lost again.. ended up 35 something.. the old left right thing.. it wasn't until I was running down a hill I realised I ran up at the start I twigged...
Good hill reps session anyway.. I felt battered afterwards.. I garminned it as well over 5 miles but it ran out of juice before the end..
Just off for 8-10 miler, probably out at Stanage/Houndkirk way.
I did some hill reps this morning on the end of my 'easy' run and its made a difference. Its one of those things I keep meaning to do but always chicken out. Need to make sure I do it once a week now. It seems to have made my weak ankle feel stronger and more alert than before.
Hill Reps - 4x1100ft
Tremendous fun
Ran over Houndkirk and Burbage for 75 mins. Great muddy fun.

12.5 miles..
Ladybower, up onto the edge, alongto back tor down to derwent, via some women who were lost, back up to make sure the women were OK as it was going dark, back down to fairholmes, up derwent and up towards hagg farm and along to crookrise..
Nice enough evening, missed the best part of the day, lovely peaceful night, darkness from fairholmes on really..
MickTor, are they path building up there?
Back and too a fair bit at the moment, have a mates kids christening in Notts tomorrow then will head back Sunday.. off to the states again then but may be back early the week after... then off to Germany..
I'll let you know when I'm next back.. be good to learn some of these trods... :-)
1hr 15min easy on Monicrieff Hill, not the greatest hill for running. Two nearby motorways do not make for tranquil surrounds.
Still, it was a new hill. Couple of Pictish hill forts to nose about.
90 mins on and around baildon moor. Plenty boggy
40 mins conditioning at lunch and a 25 min headtorcher in local woods up and doon the hills. Crisp outside
Tuesday, Club 5km road race, lead until the last 200 yards when I was out sprinted to the finish:o.
Thursday had to pull up in a club training run as I felt the hamstring tightening up, and I didn’t want to risk it.
Today I held a club race from my house, very muddy under foot, somewhat embarrassingly I won it and took over 2 minutes off my last years’ time, I got my revenge for Tuesdays race.:w00t: Refused the prize of cause, and let the others have the beer.

26 miles over the tops yesterday- mostly the Anglezarke Amble route and then 24 mostly on Preston Guild Wheel today
Wanted to test that I could manage 2 ultras back to back
I guess the answer is yes- if it is not race pace and the second one is 'easy' as in terrain and under foot
am: 5 mile hang over clearing run
pm: 13 miles from ladybower up win hill, out to hagg farm over to fairholmes, up to backtor and back to ladybower..
Nice night.. pish in north wales today so maybe a steady 11 on the roads tonight..
1hr 30m steady out on the local
12 miles, minor roads, actually very enjoyable in the rain, llanbers>clegyr>llanurg>caenant>llanrug>penisarwau n>brynrefail>llanberis..
undulating.. steady road run at lunch and then recce the Hebog section of the paddy tonight.
An hour on the local patch of woods, reccying some short winter routes
5k speed session, 2k on the rower & a mile in the pool.
Did the L100 route from Dalemain to Ambleside (30miles) in god awful weather. Tried out some Hokas and am using them as my excuse as to why I appear to ache all over!
