I'm sick as that ficking parrot, worst way to lose a game, after we worked so hard to keep them out!
Had an initiation last night. Was taken to my first ever footy game to Arse v Geordies. Um, don't you need a midfield to win games? The blokes in black and white had obviously lost theirs. Arse looked v. fit whereas Geordies had their legs run off them. Nice stadium. Seats had padding!! No pies though. Boo!
I wonder how he does it? He's certainly accomplished tactically and like all good generals has luck on his side, but getting players like Carrick and Fletcher to the pinnacle of club football is remarkable. Two players in their late thirties are a regular fixture in that side.
When you look at their squad I can only think of a few of their players I'd have at Arsenal (Rooney, Vidic, Park) - and that's saying something!
Although I'd much prefer to see City win it (scratch that I'd much prefer to see Arsenal win it but that'll never happen) you have to say its now Man Utd's to lose. Yes they still have to play Man City away but their run in looks to be pretty darn good all the same:
Wolves (a)
Fulham (h)
Blackburn (a)
QPR (h)
Wigan (a)
Villa (h)
Everton (h)
Man City (a)
Swansea (h)
Sunderland (a)
Great hat trick from Gerrard tonight
1-0 to the Rams :closed:
Tevez likes being the hero. At United he wasn't cutting it, so he sulked, and Rooney was the main man, this season Aguero was the main man, so he sulked, when he's the number 1 he loves it, so I think now they need him, are strangely struggling for goals.. I think its perfect for him...
At United, that last season, he just wasn't good enough. He played games like the Blackburn game, and didn't get us goals, he just wasn't worth 30 million.. I like his work ethic, but he turns it on and off when he wants to put the shift in, when he thought United might not buy him he started playing well again...
It reminds me of 99 season this, us against Arsenal when the lead swapped back and forth.. I think it'll be similar, its highly like we'll have two teams with 90+ points which is incredible, and shows how well United have kept going, despite actually not being on top gear and a weaker squad than normal. I still think we need a Schweinsteiger .. a class midfielder to dictate.. Scholes and Giggs can't have long left.. but apart from that this team can only get stronger as the average age is very healthy..
Kit deals are more important than points apparently.....

Quote:
Kenny Dalglish has launched an impassioned defence of his record atLiverpool, claiming he should not be judged by the club's league position alone and that kit deals are as important as victories.Despite his success in bringing Liverpool their first trophy in six years in the shape of the Carling Cup, Dalglish goes into Tuesday's Merseyside derby facing greater questioning than at any time since his return to Anfield 14 months ago. Liverpool have won only two of their past 11 league games and, should they lose to Everton, they will find themselves below David Moyes's side.
Dalglish, who in his first stint at Anfield lived by the maxim that first is first, second is nowhere, argued that he should be judged by his impact at Liverpool on and off the field. His eventual aim, he said, was to restore the old values to Anfield.
"The club is now where it was before – each one for each one, everybody in it together," said the Liverpool manager. "There are many ways you can judge a season and the best way is progress at the football club as a whole. I don't think it necessarily relates to trophies or points.
"You can measure it by how the club has progressed and where it is, from the first team to the kids. Off the pitch, especially, the club is a lot stronger than what it was. You go off the pitch and see how much money we are getting through sponsorship and kit deals [the club signed a deal with US-based Warrior Sports in January worth a potential £300m over six years].
"You look at the academy and see how much better it is. You look around here [at Melwood] and most of the people have got a smile on their faces now. The squad is stronger than it was last year. What other areas are there to improve on – apart from points?"
Dalglish used the three Liverpool dropped at home to Arsenal in a match they dominated as a case study, although he was unimpressed by Arsène Wenger's claim that Luis Suárez dived to win a penalty that was missed by Dirk Kuyt, and called on the FA to investigate the Arsenal manager's comments.
"He never said that to me," Dalglish said. "He [Wenger] said it was a fantastic performance by us and that they were fortunate to win. I am sure the FA will look into that and take him to task for it. If you can't comment on the position of England manager, then you can't comment on someone else's player, can you?"
The question of whether Suárez remains on Merseyside, despite the sometimes self-defeating uncritical support Liverpool have given their striker over the Patrice Evra affair, may cast a shadow as the season climaxes. Dalglish dismissed Suárez's comments that he would "love to play alongside Diego Lugano" at Paris St-Germain.
Suárez may just have been responding politely to a question on French television. However, under Qatari ownership, PSG can offer the Uruguayan a massive salary and the near certainty of playing in the Champions League. At Liverpool that may be a long time coming.
On Wednesday, Moyes will celebrate a decade at Goodison Park. When it came to analysing his record against Liverpool he regretted both the absence of a league win at Anfield and the realisation that, though he has often drawn close to his neighbours, he has never really gone past them. Even when Everton finished above Liverpool in 2005, it was the year the Anfield club won the Champions League. "We have been in similar situations over the years and never been able to take the leap," he said, citing the vast difference in the two clubs' spending as the principal reason. "It might be possible that one day we could compete as equals. I would like it not to be always about money because then it would be only the richest clubs that ever win. I always hoped that somehow we could compete against that."
Nevertheless, after victories over Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham, this may not be the "tough season" Moyes was predicting a few months back. "I could possibly tell you in the next week or two whether we are above expectations or not," he said. "Six weeks ago I said I wouldn't have watched Everton; we weren't playing well enough or getting enough results. But we have done better; the players have dug in, we have hung in and not felt sorry for ourselves.
"If you had said then that we'd have won those three games and drawn at Wigan and QPR, I'd have been sceptical but it shows we are getting back to where we were in the past, though I hope it lasts for more than a month."
Dalglish is strange.. but they don't deserve to be near 30 points behind United... I hope he stays, he's a nice guy, but not a top manager by a long shot. Adam, Downing, Carroll, Henderson average buys for big money.. they have spent big and are no better than under Hodgson..
Chelski through to the Quarter finals ! Well played
Manchester down and OUT
Any news on Muamba?
Doesn't look good, lots of reports suggesting he's died but nothing confirmed..
Twitter trend suggests he's alive and stabilised ... Twitter not always accurate. Let's hope it is on this occasion.
Folk saying on FB that Sky is reporting he's stable too. It's horrible to watch the footage.
Stable sounds promising.. seemed like the reaction of everyone involved was spot on, good call by Webb to call off the game too, all the players looked in pieces.
Stable and breathing again. Get well soon....
It looks like he made it through the night. Hang in there Fabrice lad
Footballers should have heart screenings just like young cyclists in Italy have to. Everyone who is young and pushing themselves hard should do really.
I really hope the lad pulls through.

Interesting hearing the Wakefield wildcats doctor on the radio last night saying that they tested everyone, there was one case this year they referred on as there were abnormalities (found not to be true later). Also stated that at one particular point on the heart cycle, a blow to the heart could stop it, however fit you were, quite scar and this was from a doctor not from hearsay!!
Watching the live game, it apparent now why folk don't like liverpool any more. Winging divers with too much to say.
Come on Stoke
Leeds 3 Forest 7, now that is a good scoreline.. Well done Warnock bringing your magic to Leeds.
