Hameldon race route (including an arse over tit tumble) followed by a hilly 40 mile bike and then a 2 hour kip in the sun!
Just back down South from Harrogate. Managed 1hr 45 mins this morning - started in the Wharfe valley just north of Bolton Abbey then climbed up to Simons Seat - 1200 feet - then back down along the valley and a dip in the river (up to knees- bloody freezing). Without a doubt my best run of the year so far. Superb scenery and widlife and I was buzzing like mad all the way round.
Finally got up to Otley Chevin for a club session- c7.5 miles attacking most of the hills both up and down, followed by a pint of Landlord in the Royalty:).
1km in the pool this morning. Seem to be getting slower every time I do my 400m time trial in there at the moment. Then cycled to work and back. Managed 25 minute run at lunch but my foot was a little sore today.
Hmm nowt last night. Got stuck in the crash on the M6 in Brum and didn't get home till 9.
Still bit more time for the chest / knee to recover!
I WILL GO OUT TONIGHT I WILL I WILL I WILL:eek:
two hour run in the morning at Dovestones, up to Ashway Stone over to ChewRes then along the edge towards Alphin. 45 min score event at Oxenhope in the evening and managed to get all the controls in 37 min
I did six miles in just over 42 minutes this morning. I was very pleased with myself.
20 minutes on the cross-trainer, and 10 minutes on the bike at the gym. Also, some quad strength work to keep that patella tracking right.
Exercise is fun isn't it!:D Almost broke a sweat this morning.
17 miles on the road bike around the outskirts of Sheffield. Bit of an impulse session due to being waken by a hungry baby at 5 am. Still managed to catch the train and be at my desk in Derby for 8 am.
1 hour on the moors below Shelf moor this evening. Completely bone dry but a beautiful evening. Ran through a cloud of midges on the track back and nearly stopped breathing there was so many of them.
14 miles , rok ard ground down here
another stone placed in the vicars wall mind:)
 Suppose I had better go for a run. Have very little time for it at the minute and it's affecting my motivation.
The sooner I am out the door, the sooner I will be back :( Byyyeee :D
4.5 miles this morning, feeling tired now. Hopefully I'll be able to do something at the weekednd. Don't know what, but something.
9.6 miles.
1:07.
Knee giving me grief at the start, same shooty pain on the front of the knee cap on the hill in the first 1/2 mile.
After that it seemed ok. And isn't toooo bad this morning!
:D well I went out and did tuesdays run 2 mins quicker woohoo!
20 minutes bike, followed by 20 minutes Cross-trainer. Fantastic. The great indoors. The air-con in your hair. Life doesn't get much better than this.
9 very hot miles in bakin sun :(
makes 41miles this week , since the club race on tues ive been playin catchup with my miles all week , wont run tommorow as im on the beer tonite:)
Thurs - 19miles just outside 7 pace.
Friday - 90mins bike (30miles flat) - decent effort
Sat - Wedding (Not mine) no training
Sunday -10m in 61:11 - average heart rate of 164. (90%)
This run felt really quite hard throughout. What heartrate would I sustain if it was a race I wonder? I know it would take me between 56 and 58 mins.
Bluebell 10K mainly (90%) off road race in 49 minutes, 600ft of climbing. It was won in 33m I think. Good course through woods, farmland and downland and gentle breeze blowing off the sea. Poor organisation: the car park exit was across the race finish and it took me 45 minutes to get out, there were about 6 bogs for hundreds of people and pre-entered runners had to queue for ages for their number while those entering on the day just walked up and registered. Moan, moan, moan. Enjoyed it though.
Friday - 7.25 miles from home - wearing tracksters again coz cool and breezy:mad:
Saturday - 7.5 hilly miles -second visit to Otley Chevin in 4 days -included climbing the steps for first time this year.
Sunday - a rest day - then again I've already run more miles so far this month than the whole of Jan & Feb combined.:)
5.5 miles round the road near home - finding some new quite hilly routes
5km race tonight :)
Saturday- Fairfield Horseshoe, am I the only person who still ends up at the big step?
Sunday - Did it rain! 12 Miles around Langdale/Loughrigg/Grasmere, saw few fell runners in distance, no chance to say hello though
8 miles up knowl hill. Really strong today, energy in legs retuning.

In between I dug half a ton of soil from below my greenhouse floor and hauled it in buckets to my front garden. A hot job, even with some of the glass panes removed to facilitate easier access. Reckon this was better training than the above. (it's for a heatsink system like old Dicky Strawbridge and his bare chested son James are to be seen installing on TV.)
nice walk with Pudgy, Fog, Joe, Gorby and little Miss Madam Lucy, who, still doesn't like water...
fininshed with a pint with a steady walk back to the car.. a nice 2 hour walk..
yesterday hamebleden hill 6 miler nice training run.. had a few elbows stuck in me here and there didn't stand for it a couple of years age when i was racing with kenyans, Dammed if i will stand for it now!!

nice 5 mile run this morning before work :(
Weekend consisted of!
Fri 8 miles in the fells round bolton
Sat 4.5 mile belmont winterhill fell race. Cycled there and back as well :D (and great to see some forum faces)
Sun 16 miles on the road. Had to cut it short by 2-3 mins as my knee really really started to hurt:mad:
Mon 12 miles mtb with some friends (more social) then 40 mins in the gym mainly trying to strengthen knee!
5km race last night - it was fun but having never done such a short race (at least not a flat one) I didn't pace myself very well and could've done a lot better than I did
ah well!
My weekend consisted of:
Friday 4.5 miles on the road
Sat Coniston Fell race
Sunday Drinking
Monday 8.5 mile on the fells in the morning and a two hour sleep in the afternoon
How Very Dare You. Ive never been so insulted. Who dear? me dear? take it easy dear? never. How very dare you.
Today I mostly did 10 miles (again) but in a bizarre twist I ran 2miles hard on the way out and two miles hard on the way back home.
Unsure of finding yet another different way of running 10miles I may not run but go on't bike instead tomorrow.
.
Well over in the USA in New Hampshire now. Not very inspiring running where I am just now. Found a local track last night and did 25 x 400 at a fairly brisk pace. Not my thing really but it had to be done.
Am I on the wrong site?
OK I did Belmont Village Winter Hill Race (and got to see my blurred image tearing past the camera) but I then did Keswick Half Marathon followed by a hilly 10 mile road training run on Monday but then back for 8 miles of off road hills on monday afternoon. I have a 5 mile road race on Wednesday.
Is that too many roads? 13:28, fell to road ratio. This is summer. I must have lost all sense of propriety.:o
9 miles over fields with my new walshs on
bone dry but its bucketing down now , ace :)
160.2 miles, 42,166 feet. Steady. Felt OK for parts, bit knackered for others. Good 'banking run' for future races this year.:D
