30 miles in 1hr 40 mins around the burton dassett hills area . lovely day .
Just 20 yesterday to report, gentle trip o'er vale and dale...
And 35 miles today, the Ferndale run via evil Roc Blanc climb and Llanwonno. Ripper descent then hi-tailed it back to Cardiff down the main valley road. This is looking suspiciously like training, 60, 20 then 35 miles on successive days, I wonder what tomorrow will bring?????
Gonna need a new bike at this rate.......
60 Miles from Puerto Pollensa on some cracking quite roads round to Sineu for a brew where we met up with a few Spanish lads and came back with them. Things kicked off a bit with 20 miles to go but I managed to wheel suck my way back to the bar for a cold one. One of the lads I set off with turns out to be ranked 3rd Brit in the under 20 short distance triathlon (Greg Turner form Glasgow)........he did not have a beer! Great fun cycling in the sun with the mountains as a backdrop through some truly stuning scenery.
40 or so miles this morning over to Belmont/Rivington and back. Warm enough for the short sleeve but a bit blustery.
Ady you can have your 30 degrees and sun and cold beers, but I had my brew in the Tea Rooms at Rivvy with the pianist knocking out a few tunes. You can't compete with that!
Still nice and warm and pushing 30c and today and just 4 of us set off for a mystery ride seeing as we only had a 1/4 of an idea each where we were heading. We sort of did a loop around Llubi and stopped at Bugger for some breakdfast and coffee before heading for Campernet which we missed and ended up on some sections of unmade roads that took us on to the proper road into Selva and then up to Calmari followed by the climb up to Lluc which taught me a lesson - training is required! Last year I stormd up here a couple of times but today was very tough and I was glad to see the garage and the fridge full of cold drinks! The roads were very quite apart from a coach on a fast bend that required a bit more leaning than had hoped for and on the lower slopes it was like descending into an oven - even the breeze was super heated. A headwind did no favours to the run back into Pollensa and a cold beer at Tolos followed by a 3 hour kip on the beach was a nice rounding off to the day. A short ride with the camera tommoz to give my legs a rest before a couple more proper rides with Sa Collabra on the cards............
