Just been catching up on the thread before posting, having returned after a week up near Blencathra. Enjoyed the race immensely apart from the descent of Dale Head and a bit of meandering on the way to and from High Spy. I was also crap descending from Catbells so apologies to Hanneke as she caught me up then I raced away once we hit the road.
I was obviously moving far too fast for Nee Bother to capture me on film on the approach to Catbells. Maybe next year I shall be a bit fitter and have a bit more LK to pick out the better routes for a poor descender - although I doubt the weather could be as good as this year.
Hopefully I shall be back and will enjoy the race again. After a week of some rewarding training runs, I now have a streaming cold so my plans for a 10k blast tomorrow have been blown apart. I'll have to see what is suitable before Wray Cayton. Coniston might be stretching it a bit - used to love the climbs on it.
great race second running decided to take it steady take in views and enjoy it best of all managed to finish higher up gc but did find few better lines horaa! back next year

What do you need a map for, Al? I thought you marshaled on Robinson last year?
Just run a number 3 shape from there to Dalehead via Hindscarth, down to the tarn, follow the ridge to Catbells and turn left. Job's a good 'un...:D
