Re: Grin 'N' Bear it 2010
Brilliant day out today. What a difference nice weather makes! Shame about the lack of food ... Good to see a load of you forumites. Had a really good natter with Mrs Stagger. I'm sure all that talking slowed us down by a couple of minutes, not to mention all my bush stops! Hope you enjoy the beer Trevor.
Re: Grin 'N' Bear it 2010
Agreed! Was worried by how grey it looked this morning, but it brightened up nicely :) although the bog monster was still fairly ravenous as my friend found out my going for the full-body-bath (neck deep!) - cheers to the bloke who pulled her out! As usual massive thanks to Woodhead MRT for an ace day out :)
Re: Grin 'N' Bear it 2010
Didn't get out of bed early enough for the long route (sorry Jan), but enjoyed my potter around the running route. A bit alarmed though to find myself in a group of four or five with 3 miles to go, necessitating rather more effort on the run in than I'd have preferred. Thanks to all at WMRT for another good day out.
Re: Grin 'N' Bear it 2010
Thanks to Ian and his WMRT for a fab run today. Me and Socks managed to avoid the jaws of the Bog Monster thankfully.......thanks Ian for the tip! Felt like a very long way over those soggy moors but we made it in the end. Nice to meet Daz the Slug, Mike DH and Jodg and Martin again! Martin, you must be due a weekend off surely. Got some rescue ale for the hubby so that should keep him quite this evening and I can have a well earned rest!
Re: Grin 'N' Bear it 2010
Thanks to Woodhead MRT for another great day out. Thoroughly enjoyed my trot around the long route. Good to meet some forumites. Sorry for not working out who you were and saying hello Jodg.

Yep, it got me today as well, much earlier on than I expected trouble. Shoulder deep certainly but not quite neck. I think this was my 5th time round there so overdue I suppose, never quite reached waist before. Nobody else around (a few walkers were in distant sight behind), thought I was stuck there until they came closer but managed to sort of swim towards the grass at the edge and haul myself out eventually.
Well done to Jodg for flying around there today, thanks to Woodhead MRT for all the organisation, hope you made some good funds to keep you going.
3 course meal at the end - fantastic :)
Re: Grin 'N' Bear it 2010
What can I say? Ace conditions, super day for running out. In the end a reverse of the positions from last year (sorry SteveS, you've been "bogmonstered"!) :o
Good to meet one and all, including Mrs Stagger and, for the first time, Daz The Slug & Fell Pony Mike. And thanks for the lift this morning Datt.
Rodders - which one was you? What were you wearing?
Funnily enough when it came time to leave the missus couldn't pick me up so had to add on a wee bit more distance for the walk home.
A great big thank you to Woodhead MR and supporters for yet another fab event! :D

Missed you matey! Hope you didn't exert yourself unduly.

I had a khaki baseball cap, black top, Khaki shorts and a 10 litre OMM sack. Were you wearing a buff?

Aye, briefly (got too hot). Don't recall seeing you Rodders, maybe next time or somewhere else soon?
