Re: Calderdale Way Relay 08
Recced leg three yesterday; either frozen solid and more like skating than running, or thawed out and deeply muddy. Hope it thaws out for Sunday as I'm not so good at skating; I already have the bruises to prove it.
Cheers- Raymond
p.s. top tip don't forget to take your glasses when recceing...it can make the whole process a little lengthier than needs be.
Re: Calderdale Way Relay 08
any nice leeds folk (eg valley striders....?) going over to leg 5 and can offer lift to well behaved and clean wharfedale harrier....?
Re: Calderdale Way Relay 08
I might pop up and see you lot running on Sunday! Where are you finishing again?
Re: Calderdale Way Relay 08
i have gone from running leg 2,then to leg 5,then to leg 1,then leg 6,then leg 1 again and now i am on leg 5.
but then again i am putting our teams together so i blame myself!
managed to recce all legs this year, they all seem to be harder now or is it old age?
good luck to all sunday, lets hope there is no snow.

Im on leg 3 as well but i dont have time to recce it so hopefully i can get round the route by following a map
Re: Calderdale Way Relay 08
There are a couple of places it's not obvious, in the section through fields after leaving the pack horse track and before joining the road to Great Rock, but you may be able to follow stud marks - unless you plan on leading at that point of course!
Re: Calderdale Way Relay 08
I am gutted not to be running this year - got injured 3 weeks ago. And it's possibly our strongest team ever - hopefully not famous last words! I am still coming, to cheer the guys on :)
I had selected myself for leg 6 which would have been new for me. I seem to go well on leg 1, my favourite leg, but my "rigorous" selection process this year proved I couldn't justify selecting myself for it. It's academic now, anyway.

See you up there - if we can find West Vale CP that is....
