both mention a 'helmet mount', is this the head strap or something different?
Also, some sites refer to the Hope 4 2008, and some to the Hope 4 2009 - as far as I can see, they appear to be the same thing, no mention of a new model on the Hope website?
The helmet mount is a mount that goes on your cycle helmet to attach the light to, not sure I'd fancy running in a helmet though :eek:
I think there's Hope Vision (cycling) and Vision Adventure for head torches, I might be wrong though.

Looking at the blurb, it appears that the Hope Vision Two and Vision Four lights come with three mounts: bike handlebar; helmet; headstrap. The Vision One just comes with the handlebar and helment mounts. The Vision 1 Adventure looks like it's from a different series and appears to come as a traditional headtorch. JUST TO STIR IT UP A BIT;
I went out for a night run a couple of weeks back, with my Alpkit Gamma headtorch. Now, bear in mind that i only got this torch to light the way up to the chicken shed when i put them in at night and it cost £12.50 delivered.
It was excellent! The output was just enough to allow me to maintain a good pace on routes that i already knew. My running partner had one too, and the flashing rear red led was excellent to follow when he got a bit far ahead (which he often does).
Looking at your avatar I'd suggest that you are quite a bit closer to the ground than the rest of us. :D;)

The beam width of the xp is over four times wider at 10m, when using the Gamma your field of vision plummets I can't believe anyone who uses an XP would use this on its own :rolleyes:
Using it with the XP was a different matter though as its circle of light is very "clean" great for picking out the line ahead while the XP with the diffuser up was used for the closer stuff :)

Still recommend that anyone thinking of trying night running with a club should get the gamma first. You might not like it; then you're stuck with a torch that's seriously overspecced for getting stuff out of the attic.
Coming from triathlon (my summer sport) i reckon that headtorches are fellrunner's version of the arms race that exists around equipment in triathlon.
If you fancy a laugh, go and have a look at tritalk's gear page if you want to get a flavour of how much these guys would rather spend to gain 2 minutes, instead of actually doing any training!
I thought spending money was the 5th discipline in triathlon? Or was it the 1st.... :rolleyes:
