Who's running on a 8 hour schedule then??
I got a nice 4 1/2 hour run this morning reversing the route to mill hill and back along the Northern edge of kinder.
The mist was a suprise as was the snow but the sun came out soon after. Pictures will be posted tommorrow evening.
My first HPM and what an experience. Highlights include the fantastic (and enthusiastic) welcome at each of the checkpoints and the most magical, ethereal clearing of mist from the Kinder Trig in the morning.
Many thanks to all involved in organising and especially to those manning the checkpoints throughout the night and lifting our spirits just when we needed it.
Some pictures from the HPM

Looks like the grass has grown since I was last up there.
It has and I fear Howden is going the same way, lots of green grass every where, a couple of years and it may look the same :( I'm all for ecology to save the moors from erosion etc but this is unnatural.
We went to the two wreck off Black moss and it was unrunnable.
When do entries open for next year ??
It looks like the entry link is up now: http://www.highpeakclub.union.shef.a...hpm-entry.html
Really sorry about this but-
Due to a technical error we have lost all entries made before Saturday 15th November. We sincerely apologise for this. If you made an entry before 10AM on Saturday 15th November, please could you forward your entry confirmation email back to us at [email protected]. (note this email often gets filtered into your spam box) It will have all your entry details listed at the bottom of the email, so we can manually reinstate your entry. It would however really help us if you could make your entry online again before the end of November. Please note there's no need to write in lots in for experience if you have done HPM before, but if not just list a couple of recent long fell/ ultra races or mountaineering experiences.
Very sorry- this hasn't happened before. We will back up the system everyday from now on.
Is it worth emailing people who've entered (successfully or not) in recent years, in case they've tried again?
Rich,
Just sent you an email with our entry detail on.
Thanks
Phil
Was any one out reccying today, near outer edge?
if so I was the runner flashing passed in a dark peak race.
The bogmonster was ferocious tody claiming one runner up to his neck!!! he had to swim out. He was a bit shook but seeing as he was in the lead and I was second he soon bucked up when he saw me...:D
Hi IDP
I was chatting to Peateater this morning about route options from Bleaklow Stones to Bleaklow head.
I could do with learning the (your?) 'North West Passage' sometime.
Now I am happy with the Trigger N-S route across Bleaklow I am focusing on learning the HPM E-W route across Bleaklow on training runs.
I think we may be out midweek next week having a look at options..nothing definite yet. Most of my weekends are booked up with Guiding/Navigation courses until Christmas.
Bumped into Geoff B and Lee L on Shelf moor Yesterday then Mark O by Glossop Low.
Entries closed now, but out of the 40 teams that entered before the website crashed I only know of 20 that have definitely re-entered. If you did re-enter without teling me can you do so, thanks.
If the web server recorded log files, as is usually the case, you may be able to see all the email addresses the entry email was sent to before the crash. If so you'd have the contact details for all the entries to check against the current list or get in touch with those who did not re-enter.
If you need a hand with the technical aspects of that just let me know - Dominic of Hyde Bog Striders.
I had thought they might be recorded somewhere but our web man said 'the emails are sent from a script in the system, not from an email per se. The only record of emails will be with the recipients and the register teams on the website (which had the first 40 lost in mid- November)'
Confirmation email has come through.. We are in for next year 😃
