I haven't been up PYG since the race last year where they took us a new route off the top.
But I don't remember following the wall as far.
Is the new route off the top of PYG revised again or is it just the map on the link has straightened out the lines a little.
Whitton, I marked out the top part of the descent from PYG to the finger post last year and all being well will be doing the same again this year. The route, unless I get told otherwise, will be the same as last year. See you on the finger post!

Good to meet you on Saturday. There was a bunch of us from Trawden having a run round, one of us took a tumble at the bottom gate coming off PyG, and made a nice hole in his knee; we patched him up and off he went to A&E, luckily only 3 stitches (cos there was nothing else left to stitch, the rest of the flesh was still on a rock!), but he's hoping to be OK for race day.

As you say, superb on the tops, I can't believe how still it was, and the views were fantastic! Inglebugger was, erm, interesting. Someone's stolen the path :wink: but good fun going up the wall. There was a group at the top when we got there debating which way to come down, we "advised" against it!

Only thing bothering me, is the old footwear choice, all the off road training for the last few weeks has been in road shoes and on Pendle last Saturday I chose wrong and went for flats, the melting snow on the cart track stuffed me :o I know it's early doors but it's a long time running on the day to get the footwear wrong. :confused:

i think you had just passed us when you fell. you seemed OK and I thought you had run on. did not realise you had done so much damage unless we saw another runner fall at the same place?
I was leading a group of guys and gals round. one of the girls even got up the ingleborough climb dragging her dog with her. do reckon though if someone slipped at the top then would have taken the lot of us like a pack of dominoes. anyway they did it in 11 hours which was commendable in the conditions. doing it again next saturday with a load of teachers and nurses from Leeds.

I don't think it should bother you mate, it's what's in the footwear that counts ;)

There was a woman in a fairy costume complete with wand going up Whernside in 2011. It spurred me on to overtake her! :D

flite 230 is my weapon of choice for the three peaks; very lightweight with just enough grip, even for a few boggy bits. Now down to £50 in a range of colours too!
