I would like to add my thanks for the water as well. Considering how far back I was in the race I was amazed there was still some left when I got there, you must have carried a fair bit up there

I had a steady race as I wasnt sure of the route and just dont really do heat. I held back sensibly and have to thank Jane Reedy for pulling me up CAW ( yes she ran virtually all the way up that climb).
Little Stand saw me fishing around in the bumbag for any scraps I could find only to pull out that godforsaken blackberry currant gel, yuk yuk yuk.
A great race and I will be back to try for a sub 3.30.

Good effort Daz!
I must admit I felt abit jealous of you all - briefly - but if I would of tried to run that kind of race i'd have been a sobbing mess just trying to finish it.
Well Done all!
Re: Duddon - 5th June 2010
Well done to all you Duddoners!
Sorry I couldn't make it, have had to take it easy lately so been having nice days out with the family instead :)

Well done Deejay, good to meet you at the finish (I was sat in the deck chair posing with me new white flat cap) with amex and co.
Re: Duddon - 5th June 2010
Cheers ML, I was wondering who that was! I'm sure Amex did say but I wasn't really taking things in at that point!

Its a deal!
Re: Duddon - 5th June 2010
My first Duddon and only the short one for me. Enjoyed the race. Enjoyed the banter and the band afterwards. Enjoyed the climbs but hated the descents - I doubt that anyone took longer than my 23 minutes from Caw to the finish unless they were injured.
When my ISP provides a connection that is faster than an overweight snail on crutches, I'll upload a few piccies from near the finish - hopefully tomorrow.
Thanks to the chemistry wizard for sorting out my stove - although it seems it has a micro-sized point at which the gas will flow yet you can still remove the burner without the aid of tools - still trying to find that point [ah! got it, with the aid of a bit of vaseline on the thread :-) ]
Now shall I fill in a form for Borrowdale?
