Ahem!...its back in the mix!! :)
Makes it interesting again, but we're a game less to end of the season and we can still lose the derby and win it
True. Man U still favourites. Its all the psychology now I guess, and Ferguson, like him or loathe him has a way with him! But thats also got to gee City up a wee bit!! Where's Danbury tonight, thought he'd be on like a robbers dog!? :)
I see Wigan had a good goal disallowed and had to play 9min 42 sec of fergie time, the ref tried hard but he failed tonight.
As for us - it's too late. We showed tonight however, that we are much better at coming from a position of adversity.
The sad thing is i genuinely believe we will once again anhihilate Baconface and his bunch of old lags and chancers on the 30th but it won't be enough.
Our problem (apart from the referee factor) is that the two prime candidates for Bacon face's piss stained throne happen to manage two of the teams we are relying on to put up a fight. It just wont happen.
Great result tonight but even old Hansen had to admit that United didn't get the breaks tonight.
Anyway back to the great result - I have been hoping for the 3 down to be Wolves, Bolton and Blackburn. I'm sure that as I am a Burnley fan you can understand 2 of them. Wolves are just because I've found McCarthy irritating over the years and it was time they went.
That's looking much more likely after tonight's results.
Keep up the negativity...
City were 7 points clear.. this was and is City's to lose..
keep up the abuse...
Re the goal.. DG was fouled.. personally I'd have gone straight through the man, knees through the kidneys, scream in pain myself, then go down in a ball.. De Gea needs to learn the British game.. we may dive.. but we kick the shout out of the number 9 first.. :-)
Must be a bit of a sickener for City that it looks like Tevez could've been the difference between winning the league and not.
King Kenny lives on!!!
bit like London buses, never been to the new Wembley and going there 3 times this season and will be there for the charity shield hopefully next season (against City)
I'm suprrised Villa were so weak.. they are normally awkward.. I didn't think they'd beat us but thought a draw was on the cards..
Everton at home won't be easy.. Wolves away for City which you can only see a thrashing..
Wigan wasn't unexpected.. WIgan in April.. if they played all their games in April they'd be top 6...
Still very much a lot too play for.. next weekend is huge.. if we can get 3 points then the pressure is on City against us.. but with us both having to go to the NE yet I think there will be more twists.. I'd say 50-50 now.. we have the harder run in.. but the points advantage..
Come on WIGAN!!!!!
What are the odds for Wigan winning the Premiership next season? Come On!!!
BBC website at 20.01:
Penalty shout in Germany. Franck Ribery tumbles under a challenge from Sergio Ramos but referee Howard Webb isn't fooled and waves away the Bayern protests. Ramos had hold of Ribery's shirt but it wasn't a foul. The incident sparks a coming together football-style (ie. lots of tame shoving).
How does that work?
Congratulations Reading. Well played and hope it continues......(though not against Arsenal please....)
And to Chelsea, not the result that I was expecting....
Chelsea must be a good team. They are the only side to have beaten City by more than 1-0 in the league!
Ah, but wasn't it intriguing. Could Barca unlock the Chelsea wall with their short passing game? Will Didier Drogba ever stop being a cheating liar? Could Chelsea hold their nerve? How many yellow cards could be picked up solely for blatant fouls on Messi without someone getting sent off.
As is often said, it was like a game of chess played on grass. I think Chelsea probably switched some of the pieces round after getting one of their mates to set the fire alarm off, and then ran from the hall before the rematch grasping "how to play chess for dummies". Having said that they can still go through - if they can snatch an away goal, they have a great chance.
8 goals! A good start to the afternoons footy lets hope the City game has as many goals in it :D
united 4 Everton 4
points dropped and Danbert will have a grin from ear to ear.
Premiership definately back on!! 4-4!? How did that happen, I thought it was all over when Man U scored there second tbh! Feels like there's still a lot in this one tho'. Which makes a change from it being over with 3 or 4 games to go. Think I'm at work tho' for the City v. United game!! See what City do this avo before getting too excited I think.
I know we can beat the rags at our place. Their defence isn't good enough. With Aguero, Silva and Tevez all back on form they will have Evans and Ferdinand crashing into each other and what can you say about Rafael - narcolpetic? We've got to win today though for it to mean anything. Come on City :D
Game on now. Must admit I was one of the people who'd written City off a few weeks ago but not anymore. Despite that, I'd still make Man U slight favourites. I think they've a reasonable chance of getting at least a draw at the Etihad and even if they don't City have to go to Newcastle, which will not be easy at all. Whatever, its great to see a title race back on again.
The BBC are trying to explain why the title race is not all over when United were 8 points ahead quite recently.
Their Sports Correspondent Chris Hollins says it is because United didn’t take Wigan seriously even though they had beaten Liverpool and were to go on to beat Arsenal.
Their Football Correspondent Mike Ingham says it is because Everton had been knocked out by Liverpool in the FA Cup Semi Final and consequently didn’t have one eye on Wembley.
However, it is their former Arts Correspondent Rosie Millard who has come up with the real reason that it is not all over. She has discovered that there is currently a world shortage of fat ladies who can sing!
I think you have to say that just as happens in our Premier League, bottom can beat top and sometimes does.
Wigan played exceptionally well recently and until yesterday when Fulham scored late on would have been at the top of the recent form table with Newcastle.
Everton are one of those teams that when they are up for it, can be quite formidable. Weird how with a FA Cup Final place up for grabs they couldn't turn it on against Liverpool. They played well today though and some of the attacking football was excellent - although the defense was poor.
Look at the Prems Goal Difference.
City +60, Utd +54 looks dominant when the next best is +24 Arsenal. But 6 are in positive double figures. The league is more competitive.
Contrast ours with Spain where Real Madrid are +79 and Barcelona +71 Goal Difference with no other team in double figures and 5th place Levante with a +1.
I bet Roy Hodgson enjoyed today ;)
Bloody hell - Malcolm Allison and Joe Mercer, Swales out and Franny in (then out,) Helen the bell, defeat at Stockport, SWP getting sold, Kinkladze getting sold, relegation after relegation, misery after misery, then Dickov and that goal, Keegans swashbuckling side, Robinho signing at the last gasp, the semi, the final, the trophy, the 6-1, 8 points behind, 4-4, three points behind....... What on earth could be in store for us now.
It's written I can feel it. Come on City :w00t:
?...I can't imagine any ref awarding a penalty for Fergie kicking himself....Actually he might get one at home, that wouldn't surprise me.
No but it's looking closer...Tick Tock...Any one set the alarm on the clock yet for April 30th? :w00t:
Isn't that what UTD have just done?
There's still a long way to go yet...!
I think we'll beat you because we go into the game knowing that a draw is no use to us next monday. The title is in OUR hands and if we settle for anything less than victory, we are done for. Mancini must unleash the dogs of war with full force. Terminate the Rags with extreme prejudice. :p
