Update for Stagger please 49 points in Harriers v Cyclists (that is using the winning runners time to calculate)
MarkyMark - Congrats on 12th at Roaches - Good Stuff!
I managed 43pts thereat, not improving my year
the Peak Raid 3's are not going to bag me many points, plus the next two clash with Famous Grouse and Litton, so I won't be doing either of those, so looks like my last remaining race of 2014 will be Gravy Pud...

Can I update my November score to 96 please, following Arnside Knott. The winner finished in 35:18, myself in 36:46. Cheers!
After missing The Roaches with injury, took an absolute pasting at Tour of Pendle, losing the plot after geronimo and left feeling green for the rest of the day - 58 points please Daz. Should make it to Famous Grouse on the last Sunday of the month, hopefully improve my point score there!
December race likely to be Litton Christmas Cracker for me rather than Peak Raid. Hopefully some committed training before Trigger in January.
65 for Penmaenmawr please Daz: Matthew Roberts 1:13:12, me 1:39:02. Beer & mug for all finishers & I was 3rd V60!
I've updated the table above
SamH - ooh, sneaking into 2nd place!
Splatcher - can't believe you're V60!?! ;) - see you at Totley Peak Raid! :) - I will be missing Famous Grouse for only the 2nd time in 9 years!
I was hoping for a score in the 90s today at Famous Grouse, but Simon Bailey turned up. I'm still very pleased to take 87 points - he must be injured.
Simon 34'20"
Me 38'42"
It's getting close for second place :)
Simon Bailey was indeed off like a whippet. I remember think as we started 'he'll be knackered after a mile', before realising that it was Mr Bailey. Anyhow, 43'03" (19th) for me - 75 points please Daz.
after scoring zero at Peak Raid yesterday I can no longer complete the series, so I'm not going to bother with the final event in a fortnight, so have switched my sights to Litton Christmas Cracker...

Hi Daz, could I please have 93 points for November. I did Guisborough 3 Tops on the way back home after a weekend in Whitby...cheers.
Hi Daz - sorry I didn't bump into you at Totley. December races for me: Cardington Cracker, Tour de Hevellyn
Hi Daz, how do you calculate champs points from mountain marathon score results? The Edale RAB MMM on Saturday gave points and a time (so same points but faster time came higher up the leader board). Pending an answer to that conundrum, I managed 50 points with my Personal Worst at Famous Grouse on Sunday (51:34 cf. 34:28 from Simon Bailey). That doesn't change a thing.
In December my only qualifying race so far will be Tour de Helvellyn.
Score "O" events get points on a sliding scale between the winning score and half the winning score (on the principal that if you go at half the speed of the winner you will get half the score (and going half the speed of the winner on a normal race will bring you in in twice the time and score you zero points).
so for example:
if the winning score was 400 and you scored 300, that would be 50 points
if the winning score was 400 and you scored 350, that would be 75 points
etc
Any of you doing the Litton Christmas Cracker please come and say hi :-) It would be good to meet some of you in person. I'm sort of looking forward to it but if I'm totally honest I'll be glad when it's Monday and its all over for the 1st year. Next year I hope I wont be so nervous :o
raid Peak 3 hour
Winner got 500 points I got 350 not sure how many points that is
Ta
Karen I'd make that 57 points. Would that be right Daz?
I've just seen the results for the Rab MMM in Edale in November. Winning points = 455. My points = 220 (which I was pleased with). Pleasing points produced paltry zilch champs points. Here's an interesting statistic though. This was my lowest ever score yet much higher than usual finish position (top 43.2%). It must mean that orienteering events show up much bigger differences between competitors than just running on its own. It also probably means there's big room for improvement for most of us.
Added to my T de H race in December I also hope to do Bowstones fell race on the 31st and (depending on how the weekend chores go) Litton Christmas Cracker on Sunday. Might see you there Daz and RTH.
Karen - see my post #1455 (3 up from yours) for explanation, but basically it's a sliding scale between the winner's points and half the winner's points, so 350 vs 500 is 100/250 = 40pts
Nick - I always do better finish-position-wise in score-O events than straight races - I think it is to do with the different depth/quality/nature of the field - lots of variables there!
Hopefully see you and SamW at Litton... :)
...aaaand I am the first to register a score for each of the 12 months! (48 for Gravy Pud) - only thing I'm going to win! :D

ha, thanks. will have to better at T de H
Thoroughly enjoyable race at Litton today, pretty pleased to be within 12 minutes of Simon Bailey's winning time of 49:49. I came in at 1:01:21, so that's 77 points please Daz. Also the end of my racing year, which has been thoroughly enjoyable despite not getting started until late April. Hope to meet some more of you on the fells next year.
Simon Bailey is a hard man to get decent points from. I was about 8 minutes behind him today, in 57'36". So that's 84 points from Litton Christmas Cracker. As with Sam, that's my last race of the year.
Congratulations to Tindersticks on yet another victory. And thanks to Daz for making it all happen.
38 for me at Litton Christmas Cracker, another behind the flying Bailey.
On a POSITIVE that 12 months with a result posted in each month.
Pleased.:D
Hi Daz, please open my December account with 51 for Litton Christmas Cracker (1:14:01 compared with Simon Bailey's 0:49:49). I hope I can better that score at Bowstones if Simon doesn't turn up. I've got no chance of doing so at Helvellyn.
50 for me from tour de helvellyn please. Not my best run but a great day out and lots of friendly faces.
Up to 40 for Dec please Daz
A bit better run for me with Si Bailey only 2nd to Tom Adams and still a couple more points than last weekend.
57 from the Tour de Helvellyn for me please Daz. That's it for 2014 for me, & I expect for most of us. Lined up for January: Hardmoors 30, The Hebden. Thanks for being the ringmaster Daz!
apologies for my inattention to this thread, but I have been sulking as I have not been able to run at all for the last 2 weeks due to a chest infection
I am now on antibiotics so hopefully back out there soon
I'd like to do Bowstones on New Year's Eve, but that's Lady Slugge's birthday so...;)
Sadly the best I could manage this month was a slightly pathetic 71 points at the Chevin Chase, where an in form Ali Brownlee sailed round in 37:03 whilst a little further back, I struggled my way round full of antibiotics in 47:38.
I was hoping for another crack this morning at the ALS but have been laid up ill since Sunday so gave it up as a bad job.
Here's to next year :-)
56 for me at Whinberry Naze please Daz.
That concludes 2014 for me.
Have we a thread for Champs 2015 please?
Post 1126 Page 113 of this thread by me (Stagger)
My average is less than 65 and I appear to be in the wrong division Daz.
64 points for the best 6
55 points for all 12
Out of 45 race's only 3 scored more than 65 (66, 67 & 71)
Must be a contender for the Kenny league.
Average for all 12 is 54.25
Average for 6 counters is 59.7
Thanks again Daz ;-)
Hi Daz, can I please have 88 points for hexhamsire hobble.....that's my December result.
All the best.
DTS,
Many thanks for taking the time to manage the Forum Champs again this year, these are more important and convenient than the South Wales Series. Unfortunately for myself only 2 races completed due to many work commitments and then having to balance up family life as well. Is the intention to run a 2015 Champs? If so may I register myself, I know that this is very presumptuous and I am anticipating my relegation.
Thank you,
Paul
Sorry Sore Legs you need to Average under 65 to be relegated.
Your a winner in the making ;-)
Cheers again Daz for taking the time to keep scores & tables in order, I'm definitely keen again this year. First fell race of 2015 for me will be Trigger, which I'm aiming to finish more than anything else!
Does my topping of the Kenny league get me a promotion for 2015 or am I held back, like a conference side on the grounds of substandard stadia?!
Daz sorry it's taken a while but it's been a struggle my score for my return in December is -1 but it's a score
It's better than my score for the entire year. Most running and racing I've done in several years - but absolutely no fell races...
Hi, Daz - Happy New Year!
Didn't make The Stoop, but had a muddy splosh through the bogs at Auld Lang Syne, where unlike Rob, I was very pleased to pick up 71 points off Al Brownlee (his time 38.28, mine 49.44)!
Keep up the good work & looking forward to more of the same in 2015.
Cheers,
Phil
