So, um where do I try and stay?
I hope you will bring your orange anorak :D
Independent hostel in Keswick ;) Reminds me I haven't booked yet :o
Stollyyyyyyyyyyy!:D
Just to show how committed I am, I'm booked into Denton House (is it me or does that place look a bit like a borstal?) and I've paid my £2.50 down. Hard cash on the table!
Woohoo :)
Will we be written up in Stolly's adventures? :D
They did not ask me for a deposit either, maybe because we are of the trustworthy variety? :D
I booked on-line is all. For such a two bit (but I'm sure top notch) place to stay, asking me whether I wanted to pay in Tunisian dinar, Ukrainian hyvrnia or Uruguayan peso seemed like they were bending over backwards to be accomodating. I couldn't find my country of residence either amongst a huge list of all the countries in the world I could be from - I had to look under E for England in the end of all places.
what is the currency in Keswick?
yes very good:D
 I am yet to sample the delights of Snecklifter
 Does Brett know this? Isn't it part of the terms & conditions of the forum you sign up to? Better find some & (s)neck it, sharpish!

Amex, look at this, they've got it wrong on the website :)
I have gone from strongly dithering to all in. Looking forward to this. Some have mentioned it on their yearly amitions! I reckon it will be on the FRA calendar next year:)
Amex, at this rate you better book the whole of lakeland Spice or we won't all fit in :D:)
And warn Jenninigs to up the production of Snecklifter
From what i can gather this a run of whatever distance, followed by a curry in the evening and a p*ss up at somewhere called The Loft.
How long is the run? What is the deadline for booking the curry joint? How many are in so far roughly?
There's obviously a good sense of community on this forum but i don't really know anyone outside of it and might spend the whole day in my little shell until i get some booze down me and then start singing . I could manage one of Softie's CTJM do's but despite not wanting to miss a night out in a new town like Keswick i might end up landing myself in my own personal claustrophobic hell and spend most of the day stood or sat around with my arms folded, which is apparrently a defensive body stance and i do it a lot!
If someone could lavish upon me the details then i've got everything i need to make up my mind. Sorry for not reading back my tea's in the oven and i've got to go to the gym soon, my body is a temple

NOYH and Mrs NOYH (curry only due to some blokes chasing a ball)
I've a feeling a couple of these won't be coming but there may be one or 2 surprises as well no doubt
Some blokes chasing a ball? Would that be that game where 20 blokes chase a bladder of wind around a meadow?:D
The run is a social thing and noone gets left behind (don't start on him again ) Most people on the first one didn't know each other and that tends to be how a lot of recces start but it's not long before you have met a whole heap of new people all with their own individual quirks - you'll fit right in with the arm folding ;)
We are meeting in Keswick but the run is starting from Scales at 11am. Amex know's the distance - roughly, but it can be tailored to suit as per 2007 when we were on hellvelyn in god know's what god awful temperature...in fact you can read a bit about it here...
http://alanlucker.blogspot.com/2008/...ells-2007.html
after the run it's a quick scrub up and back out to the pub then onto the curry house for 7. Amex has already booked that so fear not on that score he'll just ring nearer the time to confirm numbers. Then it's onto the nightclub for a well whatever....I didn't get that far last time :o
Cheers Emmi, i'm going to bob Amex a PM on the distance issue as my knee will not be fully recovered by then for sure and it'll be pain that stops me rather than exhaustion. Hope you don't think i'm too much of a drip, i just hate being outside my comfort zone. ;)
