Just 1/2 way through second listen of Next year in Zion. Not heard the track you mentioned - enjoy this album though!

About twenty minutes into tonight's Marc Riley programme on 6 Music is a fantastic cover of David Bowie's Sweet Thing by Joan as Policewoman.
Well worth a listen. Apparently she's got an album of covers coming out soon, with some real weird and wonderful tunes on there. Worth looking out for.

SS, the Marc Riley link is currently unavailable, but there's an old (2006) Youtube version:

Don't know how it compares, but thanks for the PM tipoff!
Love a bit of Herman Dune myself. I've had "My Home is Nowhere Without You" on my 'road-running iPod' for about 6 months; crackingly whimsical.
Popular feller on this forum at the mo' with Ady playing him too.
My fave:

Got to find that Ice Cube cover too.
Kilimanjaro, the debut album from the Teardrop Explodes. Genius 'not-mad' Julian Cope in fine form. My re-issue CD includes the french version of 'Treason'

Has an erasure feel to it, never liked em, like this though:confused::D
Korn: Greatest hits. Pure genius but slightly disapointing when listened to after a bout of pantera and RATM
Nowt wrong with it. AC DC are my favourites though. I saw them at the MEN Arena
'My Life' - Julio Iglesias' greatest hits album. Nice duets with Sinatra, Stevie Wonder and Willie Nelson. Includes a seminal cover of Vincent - why oh why McLean left off the panpipes on his original I don't know ;)
anybody like Run DMC
The Specials - Singles collection....Gangsters great tune!
What a tune, sums up some twisted times in my life;)
Offspring: Greatest hits. Genius
Tonights music will be cover versions.
I'm a guest on BBC radio Leeds / Sheffield / York /Humberside tonight (about 10.45pm til midnightish) and Shourjo, the DJ, has invited me to bring some of my own cds along - the proviso is that the songs I select have to be cover versions.
Bearing in mind my obsession with 80s music, could be fun..........
A bit of Heidi Talbot for me today/tonight - new (ish) album 'In love+light'.
YouTube does not do her justice.

two songs from the 80's that I hadn't heard in ages, including one that appeared in a recent episode of Pyschoville:-

Nick Drake. Pink moon. Very nice.
Not sure who the group are but a Barn dance at Steve and Nicky's wedding do. Looking forward to a grand night's boogying :D.
Been listening to VV Brown's new album but just heard this Acoustic cover of Shark In The Water on You Tube and it's bloody ace :)

And a good nights boogying was had by all, together with several to many pints but a good 3.5 mile race at 10:30 this morning. Not sure if it was the beer or the bacon buttie that was anchoring me down on the steep climb throught the woods.
Music was a ceilidh band with help from a couple of Dark Peakers at one point. Sure IDP may have a comment some time.
All that talk on the fell ponies thread.....

In honour of the 4th Ashes Test, am currently listening to "The Duckworth Lewis Method". Imagine 10cc, ELO, The Beatles and The Feeling forming a rectangle and 22 players starting a cricket match in the middle. Ray Davies is the umpire.
Second tune from last night's Tom Robinson show on 6 Music is a belter. Mayer Hawthorne - Just Ain't Gonna Work Out.
Only available for 7 days:

In related news, I've put in a panicky e-mail to my company's fleet management group to make a last minute addition to the order for my replacement car (still waiting: ordered in May). Just found out now that I can select DAB as an option. Couldn't before. With delivery not due until 09/09/09, I just hope I'm in time. Fingers crossed
