Nobbled? Intriguing! Were they standing infront of the checkpoint pointing somewhere else? :)
We also had a good race against your boys on leg 2. We were pretty well matched, so we kept crossing over. It was good to have a chat with them afterwards.
Well done on the top 20 finish. We'll both aim for top 15 next year. :)

Re Garmin. They were announcing one of that particular type just as we were leaving after prize giving. Suggest you get in touch with Bob Dredge, the organiser [email protected]

was nice to get lots of shouts on the way round very supportive
Re: UKA British Fell & Hill Re
Does anyone have a GPS track of Leg 2? I have managed to loose my map already!
Thanks
Re: UKA British Fell & Hill Re
Dan, you can download a map from the merciarelays.org.uk website

Pressure or not, Jonesy ran a great leg. We were so chuffed when he steamed down the ramp to the hand over, with Will Neill and Pete Vale (both of whom he'd run out of the A team) very close behind. We had the great sight of three Mercia teams (A, B and V40) all climbing out of the Rectory Field in the top ten to start leg 2.
Big shout up for Tim Davies too who hasn't been in great nick this year but really got the best out of Steve Cale on leg 2.
I picked the B team and despite a couple of injuries and the V40s taking priority meaning we didn't have quite the strongest group to pick from, they did brilliantly to finish in the top 20.
Great day. Lovely to see so many Pennine lads and lasses out as a fitting tribute to Daz.

Cheers Noel! Re Nobble- dictionary suggests 'out-wit' (which is what I meant) but also says by underhand means, which I didn't, so sorry if offended Pennine. More accurate description with a 'k' in front as Nick and Steve made us look like a right pair of knobs!

Video from the start of Leg 1 ! Obviously I didn't take this footage as I was running (well walking on the video!) the leg. Great running by Paul (Jones) withstanding the pressure of having myself in the B & Pete Vale in the Vets team all together until the final field where he proved his A team selection was the correct decision.. JUST!
Leg 2, 3 & 4 uploading now!

to be honest I felt like a right nob running into #3 from the wrong direction with you, Mynydd Du, Mercia B and Macc (so all the teams beginning with M, then!) piling in at the same time! We had a good run but Steve was a bit strong for me in the valley below 1 and to 2 and we should have been a couple of minutes quicker with more careful nave to 3 and better planning to 2!
Re: UKA British Fell & Hill Re
The top 4 teams aren't showing split times for CP5 on leg 3. Also a couple of other teams further down the field. Did they miss the CP?
